    Duties and Responsibilities

    1. To ensure the well-being of children at all times. To be vigilant and proactive in the approach to Safeguarding and adhere to the Safeguarding policy and procedures at all times.

Plan and provide activities (indoors and outdoors which support ‘active learning’) suitable to the age range of children attending in conjunction with other staff, following the guidance of the four themes of the EYFS (A unique child/positive relationships/enabling environments/learning and development) and the Playwork Principles. For assessment and record keeping, working a cycle of quality, observe, plan, do, and review to meet individual needs of each child.
    3. You will also ensure the children are safe and secure checking the environment indoors and outdoors before children arrive and when they leave and support ‘safe risks’ within the learning environment.
    4. As a child’s key carer, build relationships with children and their parents/carers. This will include planning time to work in small groups to really know and understand each child’s interests and act upon them.
    5. To maintain children’s ‘Learning Journeys’ on your key children ensuring they are up-to-date and accurate to share with parents and outside agencies such as Ofsted.
    6. Ensure ratios are adhered to at all times.
    7. Work collaboratively with outside agencies and parents of children with additional needs to achieve full integration into the nursery and have awareness and act upon early identification of additional needs that some children may have. Therefore supporting their physical, emotional and intellectual development.

    13. To ensure good standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times and be responsible for the health and safety standards appropriate for the needs of young children, making sure room safety checks are done every day before the children arrive.

  • Location: Mottershead Dr, Innsworth Nursery Kitchen Assistant (Maternity Cover)

    Job Title: Nursery Kitchen Assistant. To cover maternity leave. Start date at the beginning of October.

    Reports to: Nursery Manager

    Department: Kitchen

    Working hours: 11:15am – 2:15pm Monday to Friday, all year round

    Purpose of Post

    The role would include collecting lunches from our Innsworth site and serve a healthy balanced diet for all children in the nursery, including those with special dietary needs. Prepare an afternoon snack and a nutritious afternoon tea, following a carefully planned menu. Organise and maintain a clean and hygienic working kitchen and up to date records.

    Key Areas

    1. Provision of food

    2. Maintenance of a clean, hygienic work area and storage.

    3. Involvement in preparation of nursery menu cycle, in conjunction with nursery management

    Responsible To:

    Nursery Manager

    Duties and Responsibilities

    1. To ensure the well-being of children at all times. To be vigilant and proactive in the approach to Safeguarding and adhere to the Safeguarding policy and procedures at all times

    2. To collect healthy, nutritious lunches from our Innsworth site (via car) for all children in the nursery within the timescales required by your manager and to clear and clean areas following lunch.

    3. To clear up the kitchen and all crockery, cutlery, and kitchen equipment after each meal service.

    4. To cook and prepare tea where appropriate.

    5. To cater for all the special dietary requirements of children in the nursery.

    6. To maintain and clean work area as required by the guidance in ‘Safer Food, Better Business’.

    7. To follow guidance and advice from the Environmental Health Officer, ensuring a satisfactory outcome of all visits.

    8. To ensure correct labelling of food and ensure adequate procedures for stock rotation.

    9. To be flexible and interested in the routine of the nursery and to help out wherever possible, especially by providing meals and snacks on time.

    10. To be involved in out of working hours activities, e.g. training, monthly staff meetings, summer fair, Christmas party, etc.

    11. To be flexible within working practices of nursery. Be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain domestic jobs within the Nursery, e.g. preparation of snack meals, cleaning of equipment etc.

    12. Be aware of, and act in accordance with, company vision and values at all times.

  • Location: Oxford Nursery Cleaner

    Purpose of Role:

    1. To provide a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the nursery

    Key areas:

    1. Develop routines to ensure that all areas of the nursery are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness

    Responsible to:

    Nursery Manager

    Main duties:

    1. Empty and wash out bins in all rooms
    2. Tidy and dust staff room
    3. Tidy and dust office and reception area
    4. Vacuum all nursery carpets
    5. Clean all nursery toilets and hand basins
    6. Wash all hard floors
    7. Wipe down surfaces
    8. Clean skirting boards and window ledges as required
    9. Damp dust where appropriate
    10. Clean windows (inside) as required
    11. Keep a check on cleaning materials and re-order via the Manager
    12. Support nursery team with laundry duties
    13. To sign in and out of the building
    14. Lock the building securely
    15. Undertake any other duties as may be required from time to time
