    Job Purpose

    To ensure efficient and effective management of our computer systems within the limits of requirements, specifications, costs and timelines.

    You will be working closely with the Heads of Departments, contractors and external service providers.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, network, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware
    • Organise troubleshooting or repair when necessary for IT equipment
    • Track inventory and status for hardware and software throughout the group
    • Implement an IT budget for the group and ensure cost effectiveness
    • Advise about the group’s IT equipment, networking, and connectivity needs and purchases products, parts, and services as necessary
    • Develop emergency plans for equipment, power, or security failure to preserve technology and data
    • Oversee information security and maintain network and user security through hardware or software installation or through training
    • Establish relationships with technology vendors
    • Own delivery projects, solutions, and key responsibilities within a larger business initiative
    • Coordinate IT support, training, and orientation for new technology users
    • Manage IT staff by recruiting, training and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance as required
    • Research and stay up-to-date regarding new IT equipment and solutions
    • Oversee service contract providers responsible for the provision of IT software and Hardware, ensuring they are delivering value for money and the quality of services required to the Nursery and Head Office teams.
    • Review and understand developments with the groups Nursery Management Software (NMS) and cascade information through the group
    • Work closely with the Nursery Managers and Head Office teams to assist where required with the IT requirements for office moves or relocations.
    • Responsible for technology workstream integrations for acquisitions / new sites
    • Review and understand developments with the groups Nursery Management Software (NMS) and cascade information through the group
    • Work with the billing team as required to ensure that NMS is operating effectively and implementing NMS in new acquisitions

     

    Skills and Experience:

    Essential:

    • Strong commercial awareness with aptitude to determine the innovative and cost-effective solutions.
    • Experience of engaging and collaborating with multiple stakeholders across all levels of the business.
    • Experience in creating and managing budgets in line with the scope of the role.
    • Proven working experience as an IT Manager
    • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
    • Hands on experience configuring and maintaining Microsoft Intune environments
    • Proficient in administration of Office 365, SharePoint, Email, Teams, One Drive
    • Experience working with Wi-Fi Access Points & Internet broadband routers
    • Experience supporting and configuring Windows 10 and Android / IOS devices
    • Solid understanding of printing and telephony systems
    • Ability to maintain and update the corporate websites

    Desirable:

    • Familiarity with Nursery Management Software (Connect Childcare)

    To ensure efficient and effective management and maintenance of all our nurseries and regional office properties and infrastructure

    You will be working closely with the Nursery Managers, contractors and service providers.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • To provide exemplary industry-standard support and guidance regarding facilities and premises management and maintenance services.
    • Responsible for ensuring that all our sites are fully compliant with the latest building, environment, and statutory standards.
    • Oversee service contract providers responsible for the provision of hard and soft FM services, ensuring health and safety compliance and the delivery of quality services to the Nursery and Head Office teams.
    • Work closely with the Nursery Managers and Head Office teams to assist where required with the coordination of office moves or relocations.
    • Oversee the management and co-ordination of programmes of work across the portfolio of properties, including capital projects, ensuring close collaboration and provide the interface between the appropriate management teams ensuring they are delivered on time and in budget.
    • Support the execution of operational maintenance by developing processes, procedures, tools, documents, communication and implementation plans.
    • Provide the Nursery Managers and Maintenance teams with support managing works and communicating effectively with parents, employees and colleagues; demonstrating a clear understanding of issues and using initiative to respond accordingly.
    • Collaborate with the Nursery Managers to carry out regular visits ensuring physical assets and systems are maintained to the highest standards of repair.
    • Assist the onsite Nursery Managers with repairs and maintenance and contract services budgets and the Senior Management Team with prioritisation of limited capital works.
    Skills and Experience:

    Essential:

    • Experience of legal/regulatory requirements relating to premises Health and Safety support services, including Fire Risk Assessments, Legionella, Asbestos, Control of Contractors and workplace assessments.
    • Previous experience of supervising contractors/suppliers and of working with teams repairing and maintaining buildings.
    • Experience of developing and maintaining risk assessments, managing preventative maintenance systems and the ability to support the wider leadership team in developing their facilities and infrastructure strategy.

     The Old Station Nursery Houlton originally opened in September 2018, as a preschool, operating out of a classroom at St Gabriel’s C of E Academy. The nursery will move to its new location, a purpose-built setting which is conveniently located on the Dollman Farm Centre, for September 2021. The new setting will expand the nursery to accept babies, toddlers, and preschool children into a modern, well planned learning environment. The brand-new nursery is conveniently located at the heart of the Houlton community. Benefitting from accessible car park spaces, close proximity to Houlton Play Park and the new Co-op, and easy access to the main Crick Road, the new nursery is perfectly suited to life in Houlton.
