Who we are
Environmentally friendly nursery in the heart of Bishopthorpe
An original and beautiful setting for exploration and learning
Our aim at Little Green Rascals is to create a home-from-home environment whilst providing all things natural, locally sourced, and organic where possible – no added nasties in food or skincare.
Our toys and resources are made from natural and sustainable materials and even the electricity is sourced from an ethical supplier. We deliver inspiring and educational activities which help to nurture a child’s confidence, communication and relationships.

Directions & Parking
We’re based on School Lane in Bishopthorpe, just a short drive from Fulford, Middlethorpe and Copmanthorpe and open from Monday to Friday 8am–6pm. For a small additional fee, we also cater for early drop off from 7.30am and late pick up until 6.30pm.

Helping pay for your childcare
Find out moreUnderstandably, the cost of day nursery can put many familiesoff choosing it as an option. But there are a range of Government schemes open to parents that can make nursery affordable and we will do everything we can to help you understand the choices and access the funding that you might be eligible for.
Tax-Free Childcare – For working families earning under £100k and at least £131 per week (equal to 16 hours at the National Minimum or Living Wage) each who aren’t receiving Tax Credits, Universal Credit or childcare vouchers.
15 hours and 30 hours Funded Childcare – For many working parents of 2 year olds, and 3 – 4 year olds for 38 weeks each year.
