At The Old Station Nursery Uxbridge, children aged 0-5 years old are welcomed into a calm, nurturing nursery where they can play, explore, build confidence, and feel part of their local community.
Our purpose-built, single-storey nursery is on St John’s Road in Uxbridge, with on-site parking and easy access to local transport links. Uxbridge Underground station is around half a mile away, making the setting convenient for families living or working nearby.
The nursery is open from 7.30am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday, for 51 weeks of the year. We offer full-time and part-time childcare, as well as government-funded places for eligible families.
Inside, age-specific rooms give babies, toddlers, and pre-school children space to learn through play at their own pace. Outside, two garden areas create opportunities for movement, imaginative play, gardening, sensory experiences, and age-appropriate risk-taking.
We also make the most of being part of Uxbridge. Local outings to places such as Fassnidge Park, Sunnyside Care Home, and the River Colne help the children build confidence beyond the nursery, notice the world around them, and form real connections with their community.

The All Aboard Approach is unique to The Old Station Nursery Group and is our advanced approach to the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and core pedagogy. It differs from traditional nursery teaching methods by providing real-life opportunities to enhance children’s natural curiosity, with emphasis on hands-on experiences, child-led learning, and whole development.
The six core areas promote active engagement and critical thinking whilst encouraging exploration, creativity, and collaboration. Each child learns at their own pace and is challenged and extended at appropriate times.
The best place to see the All Aboard Approach in action is via our local nursery Facebook page, where each post explains which part of the curriculum the children are working on. Our parents also receive updates on the Parent App too.
Our Uxbridge nursery offers a varied mix of experiences that complement the All Aboard Approach. Activities are designed to give the children different ways to move, create, investigate, communicate, and try something new.

Our children love nothing more than when the team calls time for meal preparation or works with them during a baking morning or to produce a teatime dessert.
With the aid of a ‘cool touch’ oven, child-safe equipment and the children’s chef’s hats and aprons we follow a set curriculum to learn about the joys of cooking and gain lifelong skills such as measuring, counting and following set instructions.
At Uxbridge nursery, our Budding Movers dive into a variety of activities, including dance, sports, and beyond. These engaging experiences are adored by both children and practitioners. They seamlessly integrate movement with structured learning to enhance coordination, build confidence, and foster a sense of joy at nursery.
One of the highlights is Dough Disco, a unique fine muscle activity that combines the fun of Play-Doh with the rhythm of disco music to stimulate children’s fine motor skills. It involves actions like rolling the dough into a ball, flattening it, and squeezing it, all in time to music. This activity not only helps children develop the dexterity needed for writing but also boosts their happiness and memory through musical engagement.
At The Old Station Nursery Uxbridge, we meticulously maintain our vegetable plots, no matter the weather. Our dedicated staff guides children through every stage of plant growth, offering them hands-on experiences with our harvest’s diverse tastes and textures.

Children can explore a variety of instruments, engage in rhythmic games, and participate in interactive sing-along activities. These sessions are designed to help them discover the joy of creating melodies, understanding beats, and expressing themselves through music. Each Shakers Music and Movement activity is thoughtfully crafted to inspire a love for music while developing auditory skills in a fun and engaging environment.
At The Old Station Nursery Uxbridge, children engage in vibrant yoga sessions that blend imaginative storytelling with age-appropriate routines to teach valuable yoga skills. During these classes, they practice poses such as the dog and snake and learn essential relaxation and breathing techniques. Each session is designed to be colourful and creative, aligning with the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. At The Old Station Nursery Uxbridge, our Super Star Sports sessions offer children an exciting opportunity to explore a variety of sports and physical activities. Children develop essential motor skills, coordination, and teamwork through engaging games and structured exercises. Each session is designed to be energetic and fun, encouraging children to build confidence, improve their physical abilities, and foster a love for sports. Aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, Super Star Sports ensures that every activity supports the children’s overall growth and well-being in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Our baby room gives the youngest children a safe, nurturing space to explore at their own pace. Soft play, mirrors, musical instruments, sensory resources, and opportunities to move freely support early physical development, curiosity, and communication.
Babies also spend time beyond the room. Triple-buggy outings introduce them to the local area, while weekly music and movement experiences bring songs, rhythm, instruments, and shared movement into the nursery day.
As children become more mobile and independent, the toddler room offers plenty of opportunities for purposeful play, creativity, movement, and discovery. Painting, dancing, crafting, role play, and hands-on activities help the children build confidence while developing new skills.
Nature often comes right to the nursery windows too. A resident heron, along with visiting ducks and ducklings, gives the children a real-life reason to stop, notice, ask questions, and develop an early respect for wildlife.
In pre-school, the children continue learning through play while taking part in experiences that help them prepare for the move to primary school. Communication, early literacy, early maths, independence, problem-solving, friendships, and emotional confidence are all supported through everyday nursery life.
Our Next Stop School programme helps make the transition feel positive and familiar. The children may take part in school-focused activities, meet teachers, talk about new routines, and even explore what their future school uniform might look and feel like.
Community outings, including visits to local parks and care homes, add another layer to this learning by helping pre-school children practise communication, confidence, kindness, and social skills in real situations.

Yes. Nutritious meals and snacks are prepared fresh each day by our on-site chef. The menu is designed to introduce the children to different flavours and support healthy growth and development. We can also accommodate allergies, dietary requirements, and special diets. The nursery has a five-star Food Hygiene Rating.
