The Old Station Nursery High Wycombe is a purpose-built day nursery in Hazlemere, offering full and part-time childcare for children aged 0-5 years old. We are open from 7.30am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, for 51 weeks of the year.
Our small, welcoming setting sits within the grounds of Manor Farm Infant School. This makes us a particularly convenient choice for families with older children at the school, while ample parking helps make drop-off and pick-up feel straightforward.
The children learn through a balance of calm, nurturing care, real-life experiences, and active indoor and outdoor play. A newly refurbished garden, on-site chef, Cookery Enhancement, Makaton, Messy Mornings, music, gardening, science, yoga, and early literacy sessions all add something meaningful to their week.
High Wycombe is based on Rose Avenue in Hazlemere, within the grounds of Manor Farm Infant School. The setting is close to the B474, offers easy access from the M40, and is around ten minutes by car from High Wycombe train station.
For families balancing nursery, school, work, and travel, the location offers practical benefits. There is ample parking for drop-off and pick-up, and being beside an infant school can help the next stage of a child’s journey feel more familiar.

The All Aboard Approach is unique to The Old Station Nursery Group and is our advanced approach to the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and core pedagogy. It differs from traditional nursery teaching methods by providing real-life opportunities to enhance children’s natural curiosity, with emphasis on hands-on experiences, child-led learning, and whole development.
The six core areas promote active engagement and critical thinking whilst encouraging exploration, creativity, and collaboration. Each child learns at their own pace and is challenged and extended at appropriate times.

Breathing and stretching our bodies is a life-skill that sadly us adults often forget about as we age. Introducing children to yoga poses may help form a lifelong appreciation of the practice and is a good, calming activity in a busy environment.
Messy Mornings is a firm favourite for the children and our parents tell us they would rather have the mess on our nursery floor rather than on the home carpet!
These activities can include anything from paint to flour to leaves, playdoh, lentils, shredded paper and glue to name a few.
In essence, Messy Mornings uses items that the children love to get their hands on, bringing their creative development and fine motor skills to the fore. Our nursery environments are designed to support messy play and we can easily tidy up, spik and span in time for lunch.
At The Old Station Nursery High Wycombe, we embrace inclusivity through Makaton, a language program that uses signs and symbols alongside speech to support communication.
Each week, we introduce a new sign as the “Sign of the Week,” enriching children’s language development and fostering a supportive environment where everyone can communicate effectively.
Makaton sessions promote empathy, understanding, and a sense of belonging among our diverse community.

At The Old Station Nursery High Wycombe, our baby room has two distinct areas, giving the youngest children calm spaces for rest alongside welcoming places to explore. The team works closely with families to understand each baby’s routines and help them feel known, safe, and settled.

Yes. Fresh, nutritious meals and snacks are prepared on-site. Menus rotate every three weeks and can be adapted for allergies, intolerances, and dietary requirements.

We arrange settling sessions at a pace that suits your child. Their key person will get to know their routines, interests, and needs, while keeping you closely updated.
