  • Commercial Business Partner - Head Office - Slough

    We have an exciting new role for a Commercial Finance Business Partner to join our Finance team in Head Office, Slough. 

    Job role: Commercial Finance Business Partner
    Pay: Up to £60,000 depending on experience
    Location: 4th Floor, The Urban Building, 3-9 Albert St, Slough, Berkshire, SL1 2BE
    Hours: Monday - Friday. 40 hours per week. 

    What does this role involve?

    To provide commercial analysis and financial support for nurseries across the UK Group. This includes budgeting and forecasting, supporting business planning, analysing monthly financial performance and producing insightful financial information to support the nurseries to deliver their objectives

    You will be working as part of a growing FP&A team as well as closely with cross functional departments particularly Marketing and HR. You will also work with key stakeholders within the Senior Management Team.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Analysing monthly financial and operational performance at both site and area level, understanding variances to budget and last month as required
    • Review pricing in the nurseries on at least an annual basis
    • Partner with various departments such as marketing to help drive occupancy for each nursery
    • Preparation of timely financial analysis to nursery managers / area managers to help achieve targets and drive further performance
    •  Support to ensure integrity and accuracy of key financial KPI’s maintained within the financial systems
    • Understand business drivers and recommend measures to further improve EBITDA and margin
    • Support with the collation of reports such as the Board pack, and assisting in providing of commentary explaining variances with reference to business drivers and key actions as required
    • Play a key role in the coordination and production of the annual budget and periodic forecasts as required
    • Drive necessary improvements for management reporting and processes to derive insights for the business and shareholders. Support the continued formation of operational KPI’s for reporting and analysis
    • Work cross functionally on ad-hoc projects and business cases as required as required

    Skills and Experience

    • Proven experience of working on budgets, forecasts and business plans
    • Experience of analysing financial information and producing insightful commentary on results
    • Advanced Excel skills
    • Experience of working within a multi-site business
    • Professional Qualification Finalist or better – ACCA/CIMA/ACA
    • Understanding of financial control processes, month-end close and statutory reporting
    • Experience of working in the nursery / early years sector
    • Worked in a high growth / fast-paced / PE backed business

    What this role involves

    As a Assistant Manager, you will be leading, mentoring and inspiring your team members to ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for the children. You will be liaising and communicating with parents and oversee the planning for children’s next steps with development.

    The Assistant Manager role also includes supporting the Nursery Manager with any tasks delegated and in the absence of the Manager you will be responsible for the day to day running of the Nursery. This is the perfect role for an empowering and supportive leader.

    What this role involves

    As a Cook in our nursery, you will be providing delicious, nutritious food for the children. As well as supporting with preparing the menu, you will also be responsible for planning and ordering the food within the budget.

    As a Nursery Practitioner, you will be providing high quality care and education to the children in a fun and warm environment that encourages them to learn and grow.

    Our Nursery Practitioners must have the ability to read a ten page fairy-tale, upside down, with at least 4 interruptions per page. Pretending to eat playdough creations realistically whilst drinking numerous cups of pretend tea is required.

    Experience / Qualifications required

    • Early Years Level 3 Qualification is essential for this Nursery Practitioner role
