  • Who we are

A safe place to help your little ones start school life or finish their school day

Houlton Day Nursery is set in the school of St Gabriel’s Church of England Academy so it’s perfect for children who are looking to start school here or are already at the school.

There’s something extra special about a nursery that’s in a school – and ours is no exception. We are based in our own unique nursery classroom, with excellent facilities and equipment, separate from the school itself, but still very much a part of the school community.

    Simple and straight-forward

As a guide, the average cost of sending a child under 2 to an Old Station Nursery is £150 per week (part-time) and £300 per week (full-time).

Our nurseries have many outstanding and unique qualities that you’ll want to see and experience for yourself. Because of this, we prefer to discuss individual day nursery costs with you during your visit to the nursery you’re interested in.

    Helping pay for your childcare

Understandably, the cost of day nursery can put many mums and dads off choosing it as an option. But there are a range of Government schemes open to parents that can make nursery affordable – and we will do everything we can to help you understand the choices and access the funding that you might be eligible for.

Tax-Free Childcare  – For working families earning under £100k and at least £131 per week (equal to 16 hours at the National Minimum or Living Wage) each who aren’t receiving Tax Credits, Universal Credit or childcare voucher.

15 hours and 30 hours Funded Childcare  – For many working parents of 2 year olds, and 3 – 4 year olds for 38 weeks each year.

Helping create happy school memories that last them a lifetime

“We are based within the school, offering a great transition into “big school” and a great place to relax after a busy day at school. All our children love coming to nursery or club and are always full of ideas about what they want to do.”
