  • Who we are

A home from home environment located in the heart of the community

Occupying a converted manor house, St Nicholas is one of the oldest nurseries in the country.

Our home from home nursery was refurbished in 2020 providing a new, modern feel inside our converted grade 2 listed manor house setting.

Inside, we have four rooms carefully designed with age appropriate resources to aid the learning and development of your little one. Outside, we are surrounded by extensive and secure grounds offering all age groups a vast area for physical activities. The garden, which was redesigned and refurbished in 2017, includes a mini woodland nature walk and growing area in order to give children the opportunity to further explore and extend their play.

    Simple and straight-forward

Our nurseries have many outstanding and unique qualities, that you’ll want to see and experience for yourself.

Because of this, we prefer to discuss individual day nursery costs with you during a tour of your preferred setting.

We do, however, have our fee calculator below which can give you a rough estimate of how much it may cost to send your child to your chosen nursery.

Please note that certain factors such as funding can affect these costs, so we suggest that you communicate directly with the Nursery Manager to receive an accurate quote that fulfils your requirements.

    Helping pay for your childcare

Understandably, the cost of day nursery can put many mums and dads off choosing it as an option. But there are a range of Government schemes open to parents that can make nursery affordable – and we will do everything we can to help you understand the choices and access the funding that you might be eligible for.

Tax-Free Childcare  – For working families earning under £100k and at least £131 per week (equal to 16 hours at the National Minimum or Living Wage) each who aren’t receiving Tax Credits, Universal Credit or childcare voucher.

15 hours and 30 hours Funded Childcare  – For many working parents of 2 year olds, and 3 – 4 year olds for 38 weeks each year.

Committed to working together to help children flourish.

"I have worked at this nursery since 2007, initially starting as relief bank staff, discovering a passion for early years as my experience grew. I have an energetic drive to ensure children succeed and to provide a loving, safe and enriching environment; along with a friendly, experienced and enthusiastic staff team that share my passion."
