  • Who we are

Offering a safe place for your little one to learn, play and grow

We provide a nurturing and stimulating environment, the perfect start for your child’s learning journey.

Set in a stunning three-storey red brick building, our nursery welcomes 118 children each day, who come to play and learn in a secure and inspiring environment.

The physical and mental well-being of each child is of paramount importance to us here at Little Green Rascals, which is why we are strong advocates of a good hug, as we know it can go a long way in calming a child who feels anxious about being separated from their parents or caregivers.

Our nursery has 6 rooms, each operating according to an Ofsted regulation ratio and follows the basic stage of early childhood to ensure that every child can realise their full learning potential. Each room is designed and filled with inspiring resources to suit the appropriate age range.

Wiggly Worms: Here our youngest babies spend their days learning and exploring through sensory activities. Developing good relationships is important at this age range and our staff are there to help you and your baby settle within this cosy and welcoming environment.

Dancing Dragonflies: Supported by staff, in this room our children are encouraged to develop their independence and curiosity. Children can climb the indoor climbing frame, free-play or play with puzzles to develop their math skills.

Cheeky Hens and Little Ladybirds: In these rooms, children are encouraged to develop their expression, language and comprehension skills. Creativity and imagination are nurtured through daily play activities. All of our planning is tailored to meet children’s individual learning needs and interests and we provide opportunities for children to revisit activities to consolidate the learning.

Busy Bumblebees and Little Green Rascals: Here our children aged 3 and above spend their days under the supervision of an Early Years Teacher, they are encouraged to develop into independent learners who are keen and ready for school. Free-flow access to the gardens ensures we maximise our outdoor time!

"The staff are the backbone of this place"

"My boy has been going to Little Green Rascals Tadcaster Road since he was 10 months and his journey throughout the years has been wonderful. He has become very close to his key workers in every room and absolutely loves going to the nursery. The staff are the backbone of this place and you couldn’t ask for more."

"She loves the staff and her key worker!"

"Really pleased with Little Green Rascals Tadcaster Road! My daughter has flourished since joining. The staff are welcoming as soon as you walk in and the tell is my daughter’s reaction to going to nursery - it took her about two mornings until she ran in without looking back, which is always a good sign. She loves the staff and her key worker!"

    "A wonderful, nurturing environment"

"Little Green Rascals is a wonderful, nurturing environment for the children that attend. The staff are caring and qualified in their field and my little one loves her days at nursery. As a very anxious first-time mum they provide the reassurance and support that I need that, my precious baby, is in the best place for her development."

    Helping pay for your childcare

Understandably, the cost of day nursery can put many familiesoff choosing it as an option. But there are a range of Government schemes open to parents that can make nursery affordable and we will do everything we can to help you understand the choices and access the funding that you might be eligible for.

Tax-Free Childcare  – For working families earning under £100k and at least £131 per week (equal to 16 hours at the National Minimum or Living Wage) each who aren’t receiving Tax Credits, Universal Credit or childcare vouchers.

15 hours and 30 hours Funded Childcare  – For many working parents of 2 year olds, and 3 – 4 year olds for 38 weeks each year.
