Who we are
A beautifully refurbished nursery in the heart of Haxby village
Eco-friendly with plenty of extra activities to offer.
Our children’s nursery has a rich history of dedicated childcare professionals, radiating a well-respected and cherished reputation not only within the village but also throughout the surrounding community.
Our nursery cares for 60 children each day and is split into areas of Baby, Toddler and Pre-school across two buildings.
We enjoy a Forest School, yoga, drama, dance and languages to name just a few. We work hard to ensure we offer the children in our care a home-from-home environment – where they can grow in character and confidence by learning new skills every day.

"Little Green Rascals Haxby have been so lovely with our little boy. He can be very timid and is late talking, but they are great at making sure he is included in activities and gets lots of cuddles and reassurance when he needs them. You can tell the bond he's formed with them by how he reacts when he sees the staff there. They do lots of great activities, spend lots of time outdoors, and they always make time if I need to tell them or ask them about something. I'd recommend them to anyone."

Helping pay for your childcare
Find out moreUnderstandably, the cost of day nursery can put many familiesoff choosing it as an option. But there are a range of Government schemes open to parents that can make nursery affordable and we will do everything we can to help you understand the choices and access the funding that you might be eligible for.
Tax-Free Childcare – For working families earning under £100k and at least £131 per week (equal to 16 hours at the National Minimum or Living Wage) each who aren’t receiving Tax Credits, Universal Credit or childcare vouchers.
15 hours and 30 hours Funded Childcare – For many working parents of 2 year olds, and 3 – 4 year olds for 38 weeks each year.

I have held my NNEB qualification for over 40 years and started my career over 20 years ago. I started as a practitioner and have progressed through the ranks to Deputy and now Manager.
My youngest daughter works with me at the nursery as a practitioner - her two sons also came to the nursery but are now school age - it really is a family affair!
