At The Old Station Nursery Bromsgrove, we know that nursery education has many benefits. Not only does it allow parents to return to work knowing their child is safe and cared for, but evidence shows that it contributes to cognitive, social, and physical development, boosts confidence and independence, and supports children’s preparation for school. To support this, our Bromsgrove day nursery offers FREE childcare for siblings of registered children to support the whole family.
Please contact the nursery team at Bromsgrove to determine the nursery fee that is correct for your individual circumstances.
Come along for a nursery tour to see our newly refurbished nursery, a short walk away from Bromsgrove town centre.
The ‘home-from-home’ feel is made up of four individual spacious rooms, carefully designed for the children to become independent learners, with plentiful age-appropriate resources, inviting them to control their own learning and development.
Our nursery has recently been refurbished and now offers brand new, bright, and revitalised spaces that enhance learning and play experiences for our Bromsgrove nursery children.
Our 2024 newly refurbished garden has been such a huge impact on the nursery and the planters have provided excellent learning opportunities. The new garden equipment allows the children to find different ways of moving and exploring, appropriate for all age groups. We also have a side garden which is sheltered to allow us some shade during the summer.

The Brighter Learning Approach (BLA) is unique to The Old Station Nursery group and is our advanced approach to the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and core pedagogy. It differs from traditional nursery teaching methods by providing real-life opportunities to enhance children’s natural curiosity, with emphasis on hands-on experiences, child-led learning, and whole development.
The six core areas promote active engagement and critical thinking whilst encouraging exploration, creativity, and collaboration. Each child learns at their own pace and is challenged and extended at appropriate times.
The best place to see the BLA in action is via our local nursery Facebook page, where each post explains which part of the curriculum the children are working on. Our parents also receive updates on the Parent App too.
Championing children's holistic health and laying the foundations for a happy, healthy and successful life.
Helping the future generation of global citizens to understand the world they live in and to believe they can make a difference.
Enabling early experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM). Nurturing our next generation of investigators, inventors and innovators.
Enticing children to develop a life-long love of books and reading through engaging and interactive storytelling experiences. Building strong literacy skills while sparking imagination and creativity.
Engaging children in meaningful mathematical learning. Developing knowledge, building skills and exploring concepts, through purposeful play and plenty of practice.
Developing confident communicators by engaging in quality conversations with children every day, in a language rich and communication friendly environment.
Activities at our nursery are often held outside in our newly refurbished garden when the weather allows. The extra clubs enhance our Brighter Learning Approach, our bespoke version of the Early Years Statutory Framework.
Bromsgrove’s nursery children learn about different materials, how to problem solve, observe and predict; always being encouraged to ask questions about the world around them.
Using real caterpillars we watch the lifecycle of a caterpillar to when it emerges from its chrysalis to become a butterfly – this is a very exciting day for the children (and staff!)
We love an obstacle-course at The Old Station Nursery Bromsgrove and you will often find us honing our gross-motor and balancing skills across the balance beams, steps and bridges.
We hold weekly P.E days where the children warm up and engage in P.E activities just like they will experience at primary school.
Messy Mornings is a firm favourite for the children and our parents tell us they would rather have the mess on our nursery floor rather than on the home carpet! These activities can include anything from paint to flour to leaves, playdoh, lentils, shredded paper and glue to name a few.
In essence, Messy Mornings uses items that the children love to get their hands on, bringing their creative development and fine motor skills to the fore. Our nursery environments are designed to support messy play and we can easily tidy up, spik and span in time for lunch.
Our new vegetable planter teaches the children about the different stages of growth cycles and exploring the different tastes and textures of the produce.
As Budding Gardeners, children learn about the environment and gain lifelong sustainable growing skills and enjoyment, which they will carry with them throughout their lives.
Budding musicians can explore different instruments at The Old Station Nursery, as well as enjoying rhythmic games, and participating in interactive sing-along sessions. They’ll discover the joy of creating melodies, understanding beats, and expressing themselves through music. Each activity is carefully crafted to inspire a love for music and develop their auditory skills in a fun and engaging environment.
Our children love nothing more than when the team calls time for meal preparation or works with the children to produce a teatime dessert or baking morning. The children learn so much in these activities including measuring, counting skills and following instructions.
Our nursery group is passionate about the link between home and nursery; the nursery experience is just as much about the parent as it is for the child.
The Old Station Nursery Bromsgrove commits to verbally updating you about your child’s day at pick-up time and also via digital updates on the parent App.
We are here at any time should you wish to call us or want to discuss any area of your child’s care.
Our aim is to look after our parents as well as our children, so you can carry on with your day, work and career with a sense of peace.
First and foremost, you and we need to know that your child is safe. Before we can deliver the excellent curriculum that makes our nurseries so special, robust policies and procedures are followed to meet the exacting standards of Ofsted, building and fire regulations, food safety standards and staff DBS background checks and references.
Our staff are trained in numerous areas and we offer further training opportunities for staff who have an interest in a particular area. For example, some of our nurseries have attained Millie’s Mark, an accreditation gained by having 100% of staff on site trained in paediatric first aid.
Nutritious hot meals are delivered daily to us from an off-site catering company who regularly rotate the menu.
Self-serving is always encouraged as well as learning to lay the table, table manners and clearing away plates and we find that mealtimes are a wonderful time to talk about the day.
Every child has a nursery key person who knows them best and who will be the child and parent’s main contact. Your key person at our nursery will update you about your child’s day and is there to answer your questions.
When your child moves to the next age group room, we hold several settling sessions with a new nursery key person. We encourage our parents to view the new room too and we will work with you to discuss the new routines, just like we did when you first started nursery.
It is wonderful to nurture and see our children graduate to primary school. Part of the unique offering of The Old Station Nursery Bromsgrove is our focus on the next stage of your child’s learning journey.
We prepare the children through school activities, teacher meet and greets and graduation ceremonies. Our commitment is to support our parents too by providing child learning journey updates, parents evenings or one-to-ones and home link learning kits to enhance the link between nursery and home.
All our nurseries follow the Brighter Learning Approach, our bespoke version of the Early Years Statutory Framework and within this, each nursery chooses extra clubs, activities and enhancements that are suitable for their space.
At The Old Station Nursery Bromsgrove we enjoy Budding Movers, Budding Scientists, Budding Artists and Budding Gardeners clubs. We also hold open days where parents and carers are encouraged to come along and meet other parents to build your own personal friendships and networks ahead of primary school.

The baby room for those aged 0 – 6 months, provides a variety of sensory experiences using textured equipment that helps babies explore their environment.
In the Younger Babies room we continue the routine you have devised at home to give the babies consistency and a homely environment to make them feel safe.
Older babies have a bigger space to support their environment explorations and engaging with their peers. Here our babies are developing their first words.
When they are ready, the older babies move to the Toddler room for new adventures.
In the Toddler room we aim to support little ones with building and cementing friendship via circle time, as well as being introduced to key aspects of the Early Years Statutory Framework such as learning about letters, numbers and colours.
The Pre-school room for children aged 2-4 years, incorporates all areas of learning, including messy play, physical education, construction skills, mathematics, sensory play and lots more. This room focuses on preparing children for their next stage of learning at primary school, helping every child feel confident for this important milestone.
We help the children to learn the golden rules, asking them for their input as to what they know about a particular subject/topic of interest and to extend their knowledge and vocabulary further.
At Bromsgrove, we offer FREE childcare for siblings*, allowing them to benefit from nursery education and prepare for their next stage of learning at school.
The benefits of nursery education extend to parents too, allowing them to return to work knowing their children are safe and cared for.
*Terms and conditions apply. Please contact the team at Bromsgrove to determine the correct fee for your circumstances.
“We support the children’s learning and development through our own Brighter Learning Approach curriculum. We look at the children’s individual next steps and interests and set up a variety of activities to gain their attention, concentration and to stimulate the children to gain further knowledge to expand on what they already know. It is a pleasure to see them grow.”
