Nursery care 2.5+ years
The Old Station Nursery Warwick, based within Heathcote Primary School, welcomes children from 2½ years old, with care available 8am–6pm and wraparound sessions for 4–11 year olds.
Our unique location means children quickly feel at home in a school setting. They get to know the reception teacher during weekly visits, enjoy shared events such as the Christmas play. Indoors, our bright spaces and varied activities encourage independence, creativity, and confidence, while outdoors, children love exploring the mud kitchen, climbing frame, and taking nature walks in the local area.
Our garden is designed with discovery at its heart, providing rich opportunities for hands-on learning throughout the year, whatever the weather. The free-flow garden area supports both sensory and physical play, helping children grow in confidence and independence. It is well-stocked with a variety of resources, including a sandpit, vegetable patch, where we harvest some of our own produce, and equipment for climbing and balancing. We also have access to the school’s field and playground, further enhancing children’s physical development and social interaction.
As part of our Next Stop School programme, children gain the skills and confidence they need for a smooth move into reception. From fun literacy and numeracy activities to graduation celebrations, and even a £30 Clarks voucher for those all-important first school shoes, we make sure every child feels ready and excited for the next step.
Well-being is at the heart of everything we do. Through sensory play, yoga, Dough Disco, and our emotion board, we support children to understand and express their feelings. Our nursery is inclusive and nurturing, with a strong community spirit and also two much-loved guinea pigs, Geoff and Rupert, who help children learn gentleness and responsibility.
If your child is turning 2½, now is the perfect time to join us at Warwick. Book a visit today to see how we help children grow from curious toddlers into confident, school-ready learners.
Focusing on emotional well-being is a cornerstone of our approach. We provide sensory tools and an emotion board to help children express their feelings and develop emotional intelligence. Activities such as Dough Disco, yoga, and stay-and-play sessions further enrich their experience, promoting physical health and mindfulness.

The All Aboard Approach is unique to The Old Station Nursery Group and is our advanced approach to the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and core pedagogy. It differs from traditional nursery teaching methods by providing real-life opportunities to enhance children’s natural curiosity, with emphasis on hands-on experiences, child-led learning, and whole development.
The six core areas promote active engagement and critical thinking whilst encouraging exploration, creativity, and collaboration. Each child learns at their own pace and is challenged and extended at appropriate times.
The best place to see the All Aboard Approach in action is via our local nursery Facebook page, where each post explains which part of the curriculum the children are working on. Our parents also receive updates on the Parent App too.
