The Old Station Nursery Warwick, located within the grounds of Heathcote Primary School, offers a nurturing environment where children can truly flourish. Our close proximity to the school ensures a seamless transition, allowing children to become familiar with their future surroundings and easing the move to primary education.
Our nursery is thoughtfully designed to foster independent learning, featuring diverse areas of interest to engage young minds. Outdoors, children enjoy ample space and a variety of activities, including a climbing frame and a mud kitchen. They also have access to the school’s field and playground, enhancing their physical development and social interaction.
We explore the local area, engaging in activities such as litter picking to clean up the environment, observing nature, and learning about numbers and shapes. Additionally, our dynamic before and after-school sessions for children aged 4-11 support both social and academic growth, providing continuity in their daily routine.
We strive to create an inclusive, home-like setting where each child feels safe and happy. Our dedicated practitioners are committed to ensuring every child’s well-being. In our care, children also learn the values of gentleness and responsibility, with the help of our beloved guinea pigs, Geoff and Rupert, who are a cherished part of our nursery family.
Focusing on emotional well-being is a cornerstone of our approach. We provide sensory tools and an emotion board to help children express their feelings and develop emotional intelligence. Activities such as Dough Disco, yoga, and stay-and-play sessions further enrich their experience, promoting physical health and mindfulness.
The Old Station Nursery Warwick is dedicated to providing a joyful and enriching experience for every child, laying a strong foundation for their future.

The Brighter Learning Approach (BLA) is unique to The Old Station Nursery group and is our advanced approach to the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and core pedagogy. It differs from traditional nursery teaching methods by providing real-life opportunities to enhance children’s natural curiosity, with emphasis on hands-on experiences, child-led learning, and whole development.
The six core areas promote active engagement and critical thinking whilst encouraging exploration, creativity, and collaboration. Each child learns at their own pace and is challenged and extended at appropriate times.
The best place to see the BLA in action is via our local nursery Facebook page, where each post explains which part of the curriculum the children are working on. Our parents also receive updates on the Parent App too.
Championing children's holistic health and laying the foundations for a happy, healthy and successful life.
Helping the future generation of global citizens to understand the world they live in and to believe they can make a difference.
Enabling early experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM). Nurturing our next generation of investigators, inventors and innovators.
Enticing children to develop a life-long love of books and reading through engaging and interactive storytelling experiences. Building strong literacy skills while sparking imagination and creativity.
Engaging children in meaningful mathematical learning. Developing knowledge, building skills and exploring concepts, through purposeful play and plenty of practice.
Developing confident communicators by engaging in quality conversations with children every day, in a language rich and communication friendly environment.
The Old Station Nursery Warwick has a wealth of activities and resources to offer our local children, ensuring there is something different every day to inspire and educate them. With a blend of indoor and outdoor activities, including creative play areas, physical exercise equipment, and educational tools, we provide a diverse and stimulating environment.
Our children eagerly look forward to meal preparation time and are thrilled when our team collaborates with them to create teatime desserts or participate in a baking morning. These activities are not only fun but also highly educational, teaching the children essential skills such as measuring, counting, and following instructions. Through these hands-on experiences, they gain practical knowledge and develop important life skills in a playful and engaging environment.
At Warwick nursery, our Budding Movers enthusiastically dive into a variety of activities, including dance, sports, and more. These engaging experiences are beloved by both children and practitioners, seamlessly integrating movement with structured learning. This approach enhances coordination, builds confidence, and fosters a sense of joy within the nursery. Through these dynamic activities, children not only develop physical skills but also enjoy the excitement and happiness that come with active learning.
A standout feature is Dough Disco, an engaging activity that blends the enjoyment of play dough with the energy of disco music to enhance children’s fine motor skills. Children roll, flatten, and squeeze the dough to the beat, which not only aids in developing the fine motor skills crucial for writing but also increases their joy and memory through rhythmic involvement.
At The Old Station Nursery Warwick, we take great care in maintaining our vegetable plots, regardless of the weather. Our committed staff leads children through each phase of plant growth, providing them with hands-on experiences to explore the various tastes and textures of our harvest.
As budding gardeners at The Old Station Nursery Warwick, children gain insights into the environment and develop important, sustainable gardening skills. These enriching activities not only deepen their appreciation for gardening but also equip them with valuable skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.

At The Old Station Nursery Warwick, we prioritiae your child’s safety above all else. To deliver the excellent curriculum that sets our nurseries apart, we strictly adhere to robust policies and procedures that meet Ofsted standards, building and fire regulations, food safety requirements, and ensure all staff undergo DBS background checks and reference checks.
Our staff receive extensive training and are offered additional development opportunities based on their interests. For instance, some of our nurseries have achieved Millie’s Mark, an accreditation indicating that 100% of staff are trained in paediatric first aid.
Our facilities are secure, with all gates locked and access controlled via a video buzzer system, allowing staff to verify and recognise visitors before entry.
At The Old Station Nursery Warwick, we provide nutritious and wholesome lunches through our partnership with Cupcake Caterers. Our rolling lunch system serves groups of nine children at a time, allowing playtime, an essential part of learning, to continue uninterrupted.
This approach not only ensures a more personal dining experience but also transforms mealtimes into valuable opportunities for enhancing communication and storytelling.
Children self-serve their food while a practitioner sits at the table to monitor and assist, creating a supportive environment where meaningful conversations and social skills can flourish.
Every child has a nursery key person who knows them best and who will be the child and parent’s main contact.
Your key person at our nursery will update you about your child’s day and is there to answer your questions.
When your child moves to the next age group room, we hold several settling sessions with a new nursery key person. We encourage our parents to view the new room too and we will work with you to discuss the new routines, just like we did when you first started nursery.
It is rewarding to see our children transition to primary school. At The Old Station Nursery Warwick, we prepare them with activities such as providing school uniforms from local schools in our home corner, discussing the fun of starting school, and reading stories about it.
We also create personalised ‘school books’ with pictures of future teachers and play ‘schools’ to help children recognise their names. Our preparation includes teacher meet-and-greets, graduation ceremonies, and keeping parents updated through learning journey reports, parents’ evenings, and home link learning kits.
All our nurseries follow the Brighter Learning Approach, our bespoke version of the Early Years Statutory Framework. Within this, each nursery chooses extra clubs, activities, and enhancements suitable for their space.
The Old Station Nursery Warwick enjoys multiple clubs including Dough Disco, Budding Gardeners, Movers, Artists, Scientists, Chefs, and Budding Musicians.
