  • Who we are

Farmhouse nursery with 420 square meters of outdoor space for adventures

An eco-friendly ethos next to the beautiful Winn Wood.

Set in a beautiful farmhouse, nestled in trees and open farmland, our nursery is the original Little Green Rascals Organic Day Nursery and enjoys 420 square metres of indoor and outdoor space.

Inside, we provide a secure and inspiring environment with home corners, small world areas, role play settings, malleable play and construction zones as well as comfy corners for quiet time or a snuggle and we follow the areas of learning and development set out in the Early Years Foundation stage.

Outside, we allow daily access to our beautifully landscaped gardens where our Rascals can ride bicycles and scooters, play in the mud kitchens, run through our willow tunnels, play giant musical instruments, climb our large wooden play apparatus or jump in the deepest of puddles!

We have four rooms where careful thought and planning is applied to ensure that every child can realise their full learning potential. Each room is designed and filled with inspiring resources to suit the appropriate age range.

Wiggly Worms: Here our youngest babies spend their days learning and exploring with sensory activities. Developing good relationships is important at this age, and our staff are there to help you and your baby settle with us.

Dancing Dragonflies: Supported by staff, the children are encouraged to develop independence and curiosity. The children love to climb the indoor climbing frame, play in home corners, or play with puzzles to stretch their mathematical abilities.

    "A brilliant nursery"

"A brilliant nursery, we have two children there. Very caring staff, and a lovely setting, they have so much outdoor space and the benefits of visiting the maze site regularly. They make every effort to be eco friendly, and have always happily used our cloth nappies which is a big plus from us. They have an on-site chef providing a brilliant healthy menu."

    "The staff are all wonderful"

"I can't speak highly enough about this nursery. Our daughter has not only loved every minute of her time here but has also developed leaps and bounds in her speech, social skills and motor skills. The staff are all wonderful and we have loved all her 'Key Persons' in each of the rooms. The food is fantastic. All in all, we feel a huge sense of peace of mind dropping her off there as we know she is going to have a wonderful, fun and enriching day."

"I would very highly recommend this nursery"

"LGR in Elvington is a fantastic nursery in a quiet rural setting with lovely grounds. The facilities are great and the indoor and outdoor environment is particularly stimulating and offers lots of adventure and exploration for the children to explore. It is apparent that lots of very hard work has gone into the nursery by the brilliant, caring, kind and very helpful staff team, and their outstanding manager. I would very highly recommend this nursery if you are keen for your child to flourish and to have a great start to their young lives."

    Helping pay for your childcare

Understandably, the cost of day nursery can put many familiesoff choosing it as an option. But there are a range of Government schemes open to parents that can make nursery affordable and we will do everything we can to help you understand the choices and access the funding that you might be eligible for.

Tax-Free Childcare  – For working families earning under £100k and at least £131 per week (equal to 16 hours at the National Minimum or Living Wage) each who aren’t receiving Tax Credits, Universal Credit or childcare vouchers.

15 hours and 30 hours Funded Childcare  – For many working parents of 2 year olds, and 3 – 4 year olds for 38 weeks each year.
