Newly refurbished
At Marlow, we take great pride in our newly refurbished nursery, which has been meticulously designed and equipped to cater to the unique needs and developmental stages of each age group. Through an enhanced offering of four focus areas, our goal is to provide the best nursery in the Marlow area.
The best in nursery education in Marlow comes with the enhancement of Forest School, Cookery and Organic food, all delivered in a Montessori inspired way that fosters strong connections between children and the world around them. We are thrilled to announce that our renovation project has been successfully completed in 2024. This comprehensive overhaul encompassed a complete redesign of the interior spaces and external spaces, an upgrade to our facilities, and an overall enhancement of the learning environment for your children.
At our nursery, every moment spent is an opportunity for your child to develop essential skills and aptitudes that not only prepare them for their journey into formal education but also ignite a lifelong passion for learning. Conveniently located on the grounds of Foxes Piece School, we ensure that the transition to primary school is as seamless and comfortable as possible.

The Brighter Learning Approach (BLA) is unique to The Old Station Nursery group and is our advanced approach to the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and core pedagogy. It differs from traditional nursery teaching methods by providing real-life opportunities to enhance children’s natural curiosity, with emphasis on hands-on experiences, child-led learning, and whole development.
The six core areas promote active engagement and critical thinking whilst encouraging exploration, creativity, and collaboration. Each child learns at their own pace and is challenged and extended at appropriate times.
The best place to see the BLA in action is via our local nursery Facebook page, where each post explains which part of the curriculum the children are working on. Our parents also receive updates on the Parent App too.
Championing children's holistic health and laying the foundations for a happy, healthy and successful life.
Helping the future generation of global citizens to understand the world they live in and to believe they can make a difference.
Enabling early experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM). Nurturing our next generation of investigators, inventors and innovators.
Enticing children to develop a life-long love of books and reading through engaging and interactive storytelling experiences. Building strong literacy skills while sparking imagination and creativity.
Engaging children in meaningful mathematical learning. Developing knowledge, building skills and exploring concepts, through purposeful play and plenty of practice.
Developing confident communicators by engaging in quality conversations with children every day, in a language rich and communication friendly environment.
Marlow nursery offers a unique combination of clubs and enhancements to provide the very best in nursery care and education in the local area.
Marlow’s Forest School enhancement was launched in 2024 and boasts new outdoor equipment. Nature itself is a teacher, so we pull on nature’s resources to learn about the seasons whilst using our extensive resources to learn about fire, wood and woodwork.
Marlow staff are trained to follow The Old Station Nursery Forest School curriculum to ensure the best learning outcomes for your child.
In our Marlow organic nursery, the children learn about organic produce through cultivating and harvesting their own food.
We are partnered with SOIL Association and Food For Life, currently with a Bronze level which has been a significant first step towards improving our environment. The children eat organic food at least once a day.
Cookery enhancement means that the children follow a set curriculum, using child-safe equipment. Apart from the enjoyment derived from cooking, the children are also learning maths skills by measuring ingredients, listening skills by following instructions and team work.
Our parents love to see their children in their chefs’ hats and aprons as they whip-up their next delight.
The Montessori method emphasises five key learning areas of Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics and Knowledge and Understanding of the World.
Each of these areas uses specific learning materials and practises, which are introduced in phases to our Marlow children.
We love to dance at Marlow nursery. Each week a team of external early-years professionals come along to take a dance club where the children learn to move or simply go with the flow, helping to build confidence and expression.
Weekly mini-sports is also a favourite where the children learn catching and throwing skills, skipping, jumping and kicking ball skills.
Messy Mornings is a firm favourite for the children and our parents tell us they would rather have the mess on our nursery floor rather than on the home carpet! These activities can include anything from paint to flour to leaves, playdoh, lentils, shredded paper and glue to name a few.
In essence, Messy Mornings uses items that the children love to get their hands on, bringing their creative development and fine motor skills to the fore. Our nursery environments are designed to support messy play and we can easily tidy up, spik and span in time for lunch.
Alongside our dance class we love nothing more than exploring music and musical instruments which are important for children’s cognitive development.
Children learn so much during their early years and take great joy in exploring the world around them.
Starting in baby room and through to Pre-school, Marlow’s nursery children learn about different materials, how to problem solve, observe and predict; always being encouraged to ask questions about the world around them.
Come rain or shine, we tend our vegetable plots, teaching the children about the different stages of growth cycles and exploring the different tastes and textures of the produce. As Budding gardeners, children learn about the environment and gain lifelong sustainable growing skills and enjoyment, which they will carry with them throughout their lives.
Our nursery group is passionate about the link between home and nursery; the nursery experience is just as much about the parent as it is for the child.
The Old Station Nursery Marlow commits to verbally updating you about your child’s day at pick-up time and also via digital updates on the parent App. We are here at any time should you wish to call us or want to discuss any area of your child’s care.
Our aim is to look after our parents as well as our children, so you can carry on with your day, work and career with a sense of peace.
First and foremost, you and we need to know that your child is safe. Before we can deliver the excellent curriculum that makes our nurseries so special, robust policies and procedures are followed to meet the exacting standards of Ofsted, building and fire regulations, food safety standards and staff DBS background checks and references.
Our staff are trained in numerous areas and we offer further training opportunities for staff who have an interest in a particular area. For example, some of our nurseries have attained Millie’s Mark, an accreditation gained by having 100% of staff on site trained in paediatric first aid.
Nutritious hot meals are prepared on-site at The Old Station Nursery Marlow by our cook and menus are rotated every three weeks.
As an organic nursery our promise is that your child will have at least one organic meal a day and the produce is often grown by the children themselves.
Every child has a nursery key person who knows them best and who will be the child and parent’s main contact. Your key person at our nursery will update you about your child’s day and is there to answer your questions.
When your child moves to the next age group room, we hold several settling sessions with a new nursery key person.
We encourage our parents to view the new room too and we will work with you to discuss the new routines, just like we did when you first started nursery.
It is wonderful to nurture and see our children graduate to primary school. Part of the unique offering of The Old Station Nursery Marlow is our focus on the next stage of your child’s learning journey.
We prepare the children through school activities, teacher meet and greets and graduation ceremonies. Our commitment is to support our parents too by providing child learning journey updates, parents evenings or one-to-ones and home link learning kits to enhance the link between nursery and home.
All our nurseries follow the Brighter Learning Approach, our bespoke version of the Early Years Statutory Framework and within this, each nursery chooses extra clubs, activities and enhancements that are suitable for their space.
At The Old Station Nursery Marlow we offer four enhancements which set our nursery apart from other providers; these are Forest School, Organic, Cookery and Montessori inspired learning. We hold open days where parents and carers are encouraged to come along to see our enhancements in action and meet other parents to build your own personal friendships and networks ahead of primary school.
The Old Station Nursery Marlow commits to providing a simple fee structure so you can manage your nursery costs.
At this nursery we provide private and government funded sessions for eligible parents. Contact us for the nursery fee that is correct for your individual circumstances.
Our Baby Room is split into three age-appropriate areas with each room set up to encourage the children to explore their environment, enabling them to develop in their own way and time. We offer a wide variety of experiences that meet their natural curiosity, growing energy and brain development
We will follow your home routine, providing a home-from-home feel when offering bottles and at nap time providing stability within your child’s routine.
In our Toddler Rooms, we focus primarily on establishing the basis of the strong social-emotional skills which will support the children through their time here.
We build trust, self-confidence and independence supporting the growing awareness of other children. The practitioners support the children with multiple materials and patience.
We know that young children learn through activating their sensory cortex, and so our two-year-old classrooms are filled with sensory opportunities including paint, clay, water and sand.
All activities are planned with the individual children’s needs taken into consideration focusing on the three prime areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
The room is divided into two areas; one side of the room is used for mealtimes, creative/messy activities and large physical activities. The carpet area of the room is used for activities such as construction, role play and jigsaw puzzles.
Forest School is at the very heart of our Pre-schoolers’ day. They engage in outdoor learning every day, learning to be more independent and looking after their own environment and that of the environment around them. The children learn about organic produce and cultivate their own, regularly cooking using child-safety knives, utensils and cool-touch ovens.
“At Marlow we’re passionate about children’s development and alongside my team, we provide the best care, stimulating activities and a happy environment for all the children and their families. Each child is special. We are really grateful to be able to offer the very best environment and enhanced activities to our Marlow families.”
