Learning Life-Saving Skills During Road Safety Week

Good Manors Miller Drive - Road Safety

At Good Manors Day Nursery Miller Drive, we believe it’s never too early to teach children vital road safety skills.

Good Manors Miller Drive - Road Safety

This week at Good Manors Day Nursery Miller Drive, our little learners engaged in a variety of  activities designed to help them understand how to stay safe near roads.

The children enjoyed:

  • Making traffic light cookies
  • Learning how to cross the road safely
  • Singing the “Stop, Look, and Listen” song
  • Exploring themed road safety tuff trays
  • Visiting the lollipop lady
  • Learning about zebra crossings

Road safety is best taught through hands-on, practical experiences. Taking the children outside to observe and discuss safe and dangerous crossing areas brought these lessons to life. Activities like these also help children mimic safe behaviour and build lifelong pedestrian skills. We know that adults play a key role in reinforcing these practices and by modeling good road safety habits and being consistent, parents and caregivers can empower children to become confident and independent travelers. This week has been both exciting and informative, and our little explorers are well on their way to becoming road safety champions!x
