Our nurseries provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for young children to learn and grow. Our dedicated and qualified team are passionate about providing the highest quality of care and education for each child, supporting their individual needs and interests.
We offer a range of age-appropriate activities and resources that foster creativity, curiosity, and social skills, helping children develop into confident and independent learners. Across our settings, we prioritise the wellbeing and happiness of every child, and we work closely with parents to ensure a smooth and positive transition into our care. We understand the parent or carers’ needs as well as the child’s needs.
Just like your child, we believe that our nurseries are truly unique. We believe that our rich and diverse curriculum is like no other ensuring no two days are the same. What matters most to us is that children feel safe and happy in our care. We want each child to leave the nursery with a love of learning and the possibility to succeed in all that comes next.
The Old Station Nursery offers its own unique curriculum called The Brighter Learning Approach.
Our priority is to support you and your family. We want to work in partnership with your family to help your child learn. We know you are extremely busy in your career and chosen activities and that you need to be safe in the knowledge that your child is thriving. You want to see your child’s day in action and be able to share moments with other loved ones; and you want to build your own communication network with your peers ready for navigating the change to school.
We make promises to families to provide the best child AND parent journey possible.
The Old Station Nursery parent App is called ParentZone, where parents are able to access information about their child’s day at a time that suits them best. Our parent App helps to increase partnership with parents by allowing two-way communication between parents and your nursery.
Leaving your child at a new nursery is a big deal. We’re parents ourselves so we know how it feels. Rest assured; your child’s welfare comes first with us. Our safeguarding policies and procedures have been developed with approved, independent specialists and are used across all of our nurseries
When it is time to eat at nursery, we all sit together with the children – just as you might do at home, as a family. For us, mealtimes are about more than nutritious food (although that is incredibly important). They are a time to swap stories, strengthen bonds, and deepen relationships.
At The Old Station Nursery Group, we believe in fostering skills, aptitudes and attitudes to ensure children have a healthy and positive approach to life-long learning. Transition to school is an exciting time of our children, staff and parents alike.
Every child who attends our settings is assigned a key carer to act as a bridge for the child between their home and the setting. The key carer will get to know the child well, become attuned to their likes and dislikes, attitudes and preferences, and will provide the child with particular support at key times.
Choose from a variety of extra-curricular nursery activities that will ignite passions and talents with unique classes, trips and visits, as well as the Brighter Learning Clubs in every Old Station Nursery and comprehensive enhancements in key nurseries.
Being confident of your nursery fees and understanding how they are made up and what you will be paying is key to many of our parents. We know parents need to control monthly budgets and that you need a clear picture of the coming year. By providing clearly laid-out Fees and a Funding Guide we aim to make this part of your nursery journey as transparent as possible.
Our son has been at The Old Station since the baby room and he is about to start primary school in September. We couldn't be more happy with Old Station, all of the staff are not only nurturing to our son but extremely supportive of us as parents. There are always different activities going on each day and our son really enjoys the time he spends there. They have helped prepare him for school and also helped him to become a confident little boy who makes friends easily. I couldn't be happier with this nursery and always recommend it to friends and family.
My daughter has been with Sandhills since September and joined them in (youngest age group). The staff are absolutely fantastic. They made the transition smooth for both of us and since starting, they have been incredible with my daughter. Their interactions are positive and it is clear to see the bond they have built. Always take the time to speak to me as a parent and keep me updated. I would wholly recommend this nursery to any parent.
Lovely setting, staff and management genuinely interested in the children's wellbeing; children have the opportunity to take part in diverse learning activities: counting, storytelling, den building, science experiments, cooking, dance and yoga. My son enjoys his time there, reluctant to leave some days... Parents receive regular updates about the daily activities and learning milestones. They have recently opened the holiday club, booked for summer too! Definitely recommending the setting for all preschoolers!
