Pre-school children at Stratford Upon Avon Nursery & Pre-School have been thoughtfully observing Remembrance Day, reflecting on the importance of respect, remembrance, and the people who help them in their daily lives.
This week, the children at Stratford Upon Avon Nursery & Pre-School have been learning about Remembrance Day in a meaningful and age-appropriate way. They engaged in thoughtful discussions about the significance of the day, sharing their own experiences and exploring the theme of respect and remembrance.
To extend the conversation, the children were encouraged to think about the people who help them in their everyday lives—whether it’s family members, carers, or other community helpers. This thoughtful reflection allowed them to connect Remembrance Day with their own experiences of kindness and support.
As part of the learning experience, the children created their own poppies using a variety of resources, from paper and paints to buttons and fabric. This hands-on activity allowed them to express their understanding of the symbol of remembrance while fostering creativity and fine motor skills.
