Children Benefit from Nursery Education and Parents from Government Funding

The benefits of nursery education for children are undeniable. Not only does it allow parents to return to work knowing their child is safe and cared for, but evidence also shows that it contributes to cognitive, social, and physical development, boosts confidence and independence, and supports children’s preparation for school.

However, enrolling your child in a nursery is an important decision – not least because nursery fees are a significant part of household expenditures, and parents need to plan, budget, and fully understand the associated charges.

Enrolling your child in nursery doesn’t have to be as expensive as you think. Most families are eligible for funded childcare.

The government has extended a financial helping hand to make childcare more accessible to families, a positive step towards brighter futures for our children.

Although this does not mean that your childcare costs will be free, it does mean you could save hundreds of pounds each month.

There are a number of government-funded childcare schemes available to parents with children aged 9 months to 4 years, and parents can benefit from these by checking their eligibility and claiming their government funding code by 30th November 2024 to benefit from 1st January 2025.
