Wolverhampton celebrate Outstanding

Sandhills Day Nursery in Wolverhampton has received an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted grading, following their recent inspection.

Wolverhampton celebrate Outstanding

The nursery, which joined the larger nursery group, The Old Station Nursery Group in 2019, provides full time and part time care for children aged 3 months to 5 years old.

The most recent Ofsted inspection mentioned that “Children who attend this nursery experience a calm and homely environment, where their learning and enjoyment is given top priority. Staff make the most of every opportunity to enhance and extend children’s learning experiences”

It continued with “Staff recognise each child’s uniqueness. They plan a range of exciting activities based on children’s individual interests and what they need to learn next. As a result, children thrive, and behaviour is exemplary. Children are well prepared in readiness for the next stage of their learning and the move on to school.”

The nursery is a purpose-built setting, providing a stimulating and safe environment. Alongside a supportive, and highly qualified staff team, children are given the best start in life with plenty of opportunities to explore, learn, and develop in the environment around them.

Commenting on the recent ‘Outstanding’ result, Nursery Manager Debbie Redfern said “We are extremely pleased with our report and truly believe this result highlights the hard work and dedication that everyone linked to Sandhills Wolverhampton puts in, to ensure that we give children the best start in life. I am so very proud of how hard everyone pulled together this year, considering the pandemic and how this affected the Early Years.

Debbie continued with “We all work together as a team, and have truly highlighted what is achievable with lots of dedication and hard work.  We know that the hard work does not stop here, our journey is of a continual improvement and as such, we strive to continue offering a homely, friendly, calm, positive, and successful learning experience for all children and staff.”

Chair of The Old Station Nursery Group, Sarah Steel also commented on this achievement.

“An absolutely fantastic achievement from our nursery in Wolverhampton, and a well done to all the team.  We are incredibly proud to have you a part of The Old Station Nursery Group”

Named as the 12th largest nursery group in the UK (Nursery Chains league, March 2022), The Old Station Nursery Group cares for up to 4846 children in 71 nurseries across the UK.
