The nursery, which joined the larger nursery group The Old Station Nursery Group in 2021, provides full time and part time care for children aged 3 months to 5 years old.

The most recent Ofsted inspection report mentioned that “The nursery benefits from a strong leadership and management team. The Manager is knowledgeable and has a clear vision for the nursery and what she wants children to learn. She is supported in her role by Senior Managers from the company that has recently acquired the nursery. They work well together to identify areas for improvement to move the nursery forward.

It continued with saying that “Children’s safety and well-being are given high priority and robust recruitment procedures ensure that all staff working with children are safe and suitable to do so. The premises are safe and secure.

The nursery is a purpose-built setting, with an embedded focus on offering a safe, secure and welcoming provision to all children and families. The nursery offers a nurturing environment where children can become confident and curious learners, building a strong foundation for future learning.

Commenting on the recent grading, Nursery Manager Claire Jones said: “As the Manager of the nursery and a parent myself, I understand what a difficult decision it can be selecting a nursery for your child and the mixed emotions you are likely to be experiencing; however, myself and the team here at My First Friends are here to support you, as well as your child, through every step along your journey with us. We pride ourselves on working closely in partnership with our families.”

She continued with “We have had a very busy and exciting year becoming part of the Old Station Nursery Group. I am extremely proud of my team and achieving our most recent Ofsted grading of ‘Good’. We are looking forward to an exciting 2023 and will continue to review and reflect on all aspects of the nursery, ensuring we are always focused on looking ahead to achieve our future goals.”

Sarah Steel, Chair of The Old Station Nursery Group, also commented:

“Myself and everyone within The Old Station Nursery Group are delighted with the Ofsted result at My First Friends in Rubery. We would like to say a huge thank you to all the team for their continued hard work”

Named as the 12th largest nursery group in the UK (Nursery Chains league, March 2022), The Old Station Nursery Group cares for up to 4744 children in 71 nurseries across the UK.
