Expanding our Commitment to Forest School: The Old Station Nursery Becomes Proud Members of the Forest School Association

We are excited to announce our recent membership with the Forest School Association, further enhancing our dedication to promoting the Forest School ethos across all our nurseries. Currently, we are successfully conducting sessions at our Henley on Thames and Filkins locations, and we are actively exploring opportunities to expand this initiative.

Forest School holds immense importance for young children in nursery as it provides them with invaluable opportunities for holistic development. Through engaging with nature in a hands-on and immersive way, children learn to appreciate the environment, develop a sense of wonder, and cultivate a deep connection with the natural world.

Some of the benefits of Forest School include

  • Promoting physical activity
  • Allowing children to explore and interact with natural elements, which enhances their gross motor skills and overall physical well-being.
  • It also nurtures their creativity, problem-solving abilities, and resilience as they encounter and overcome challenges in an outdoor setting.
  • Encourages social interaction, teamwork, and communication skills, fostering positive relationships and a sense of belonging within a community.

By embracing the Forest School approach, young children in nursery are provided with a nurturing and empowering environment that sparks curiosity, ignites imagination, and lays the foundation for a lifelong love for nature and learning.
