Wylde Green Nursery, a local childcare nursery in Sutton Coldfield, has received an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted grading following their recent inspection.
The nursery, which is part of The Old Station Nursery Group, was last inspected in June 2014 when it was graded Outstanding. Since then, the setting welcomed new Nursery Manager, Donna Reid in 2019. Donna, who has been a part of the nursery since 2007, has worked hard with the staff team to ensure that they are always thinking outside the box and challenging the children in their care, helping them to develop their unique and individual personalities and strengths.
The most recent Ofsted report mentioned that “Children are highly enthusiastic learners, who love coming to nursery. They are extremely happy and demonstrate high levels of emotional security, confidence, and self-esteem. Staff have very high behaviour expectations that are well understood by children. Relationships between staff, children and their peers are extremely respectful.”
The nursery, which provides care for children aged 1-5 years old, is a purpose-built and open plan setting. The nursery is well known for its dedication to ‘our community’ with a focus on the surrounding areas to enable the children to learn about themselves and the world around them.
Commenting on the recent ‘Outstanding’ grading by Ofsted, Nursery Manager, Donna Reid, said: “My vision has been to provide all children with the essential knowledge that children need to prepare them for their future success. For the team and I, our goal is to give children the best possible start to their early education. On that journey we strive to give every child in our care a voice and a positive platform to share their ideas, interests, and opinions all the while promoting their independence”
She continued: “The team and I are ecstatic to receive an Outstanding grade across all areas in our recent Ofsted inspection. This huge achievement means so much to myself and my wonderful team, as all our dedication, passion and hard work, that we provide for our children and families, has been recognised”
Sarah Steel, Chair of the Old Station Nursery Group, also commented: “Myself and everyone within The Old Station Nursery Group are delighted with the Outstanding grade at Wylde Green Nursery. Thank you to all of the team for their continued hard work; this is a real recognition of the skill and dedication of each and every person at the setting.”
Named as the 12th largest nursery group in the UK (Nursery Chains league, March 2022), The Old Station Nursery Group cares for up to 4744 children in 71 nurseries across the UK.
