The Old Station Nursery Moseley is celebrating an exciting period of development, having achieved Strong standard across all six areas of its recent Ofsted inspection, alongside significant investment in its nursery environment and the appointment of experienced Nursery Manager Keith Parry.
The nursery’s recent Ofsted inspection, published in June 2026, saw it achieve Strong standard across all six graded areas, with safeguarding standards also met.
The inspection took place under Ofsted’s new framework, which replaces the familiar single overall rating with separate grades for different areas of nursery provision. Achieving Strong standard across the board means the nursery is performing above the expected standard in every graded area, from children’s learning and wellbeing to inclusion and leadership.
Inspectors praised the nursery’s welcoming atmosphere and the relationships between children, families, and staff, stating: “All children thrive at this inviting nursery. There is a real sense of calm and a highly favourable learning environment.”
The report also highlighted the nursery’s strong relationships with parents, noting: “Parents are overwhelmingly positive about the staff and leadership team. Leaders consistently engage with families, and parents feel communication is a key strength.”
The findings recognise the team’s commitment to providing high-quality care and education, with inspectors also highlighting children’s positive attitudes towards learning, warm and nurturing relationships, and the nursery’s strong connections with its local community.
Following significant investment this year, the nursery’s refurbishment is now complete, with improvements across its indoor and outdoor spaces, including redecoration and new flooring throughout, new furniture, fixtures, fittings, and resources designed to support children at every stage of development.
The reception area has been opened up to create a welcoming space for families, while cosy corners and in-room nappy-changing facilities create comfortable, practical environments for children and the team.
The nursery has also opened its baby room, increasing the number of babies it can welcome. Babies can now enjoy free-flow access to their garden, creating more opportunities to explore and enjoy outdoor play throughout the day in all seasons.
Guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage and enriched through The Old Station Nursery’s bespoke curriculum, the All Aboard Approach, the carefully designed learning environments encourage curiosity, confidence, and discovery, with each day shaped around children’s interests and opportunities for meaningful play and real-life experiences.
The nursery has also welcomed Keith Parry as Nursery Manager. Keith, who joined the setting earlier this year, brings more than 12 years of nursery management experience, alongside a career working with children across early years, schools, entertainment, and theatre.
Describing the developments at the nursery, Keith said: “It’s a really exciting time for everyone at Moseley. Having grown up in the area, it means a great deal to me to be leading a nursery that is such an important part of the local community.”
“We have an incredibly experienced and passionate team, including colleagues who have been here for more than 20 years, and it’s wonderful to see their dedication recognised in our recent Ofsted report. The refurbishment has given us fantastic new spaces and resources to build on the care and learning experiences we provide, and it’s been lovely to see the positive response from our families.”
“One of the things I value most is the relationships we build with families. Parents are welcomed into the nursery every morning, and many return with younger siblings because of the connections they’ve made with our team. I’m looking forward to continuing to build on everything that makes Moseley special, strengthening our community links, and helping every child feel happy, confident, and supported as they grow.”
The nursery will celebrate its newly refurbished spaces and recent Ofsted result during its upcoming Open Day on Friday 9th October, from 10am to 3pm, inviting families to explore the nursery, meet Keith and the team, and discover what life at The Old Station Nursery Moseley could look like for their child.
