Handa’s Surprise is one of the babies favourite books! The children thoroughly enjoyed immersing themselves into the book by acting out the story.
Each of the babies chose their favourite animal from the book and moved around the room together to act out the story. Fully immersed in character, the children hunted for the different fruit whilst discussing their favourite animals, colours and fruits.
This activity helped our babies to learn about the world around them through one of their favourite books. It is crucial for children to learn about our Wonderful World, the environment, planet, and community to develop a holistic understanding of the interconnectedness of all living things.
As the children talked together about their favourite animals, colours and fruits, this activity also helped developed their language skills, learning new words and ways of expressing themselves. They used their fine motor skills to hold and grab different objects as they navigated their way around the room.
