At The Old Station Nursery Iver, we know that nursery education has many benefits. Not only does it allow parents to return to work knowing their child is safe and cared for, but evidence shows that it contributes to cognitive, social, and physical development, boosts confidence and independence, and supports children’s preparation for school. To support this, our Iver day nursery offers FREE childcare for siblings of registered children to support the whole family.
Please contact the nursery team at Iver to determine the nursery fee that is correct for your individual circumstances.
The Old Station Nursery Iver, conveniently located on Iver High Street, has been a part of the local community for over 20 years. Today, we continue to offer excellent nursery care with the addition of three distinct learning enhancements for your child; these are child-friendly cooking classes and language lessons, both delivered in a Montessori inspired way that fosters strong connections between children and the world around them.
Our nursery offers these exceptional learning experiences for your child, helping to set Iver nursery education apart and providing our local children with an outstanding start in their learning journey.
The two-storey nursery is set within a converted church building, with a well-resourced outdoor area, encouraging an active lifestyle and outdoor play. This might be small world play exploring the theme of the week in the setting of the garden, or engaging in gardening activities such as seed planting and watering.
At our nursery, every moment spent is an opportunity for your child to develop essential skills and aptitudes that not only prepare them for their journey into formal education but also ignite a lifelong passion for learning.
Let us show you how your child can experience this great start with us at The Old Station Nursery Iver by coming along for a personalised tour of our nursery to see the environment and enhancements that we offer.

The Brighter Learning Approach (BLA) is unique to The Old Station Nursery group and is our advanced approach to the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and core pedagogy. It differs from traditional nursery teaching methods by providing real-life opportunities to enhance children’s natural curiosity, with emphasis on hands-on experiences, child-led learning, and whole development.
The six core areas promote active engagement and critical thinking whilst encouraging exploration, creativity, and collaboration. Each child learns at their own pace and is challenged and extended at appropriate times.
The best place to see the BLA in action is via our local nursery Facebook page, where each post explains which part of the curriculum the children are working on. Our parents also receive updates on the Parent App too.
Championing children's holistic health and laying the foundations for a happy, healthy and successful life.
Helping the future generation of global citizens to understand the world they live in and to believe they can make a difference.
Enabling early experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM). Nurturing our next generation of investigators, inventors and innovators.
Enticing children to develop a life-long love of books and reading through engaging and interactive storytelling experiences. Building strong literacy skills while sparking imagination and creativity.
Engaging children in meaningful mathematical learning. Developing knowledge, building skills and exploring concepts, through purposeful play and plenty of practice.
Developing confident communicators by engaging in quality conversations with children every day, in a language rich and communication friendly environment.
Iver nursery offers a unique combination of clubs and enhancements to provide the very best in nursery care and education in the local area.
Children learn so much during their early years and take great joy in exploring the world around them. At our nursery they’re immersed into the world of Science through age appropriate hands-on experiments and activities designed to spark their curiosity.
Budding musicians can explore different instruments at our children’s nursery, as well as enjoying rhythmic games, and participating in interactive sing-along sessions. They’ll discover the joy of creating melodies, understanding beats, and expressing themselves through music. Each activity is carefully crafted to inspire a love for music and develop their auditory skills in a fun and engaging environment.
At our children’s nursery our Budding Movers dive into a variety of activities including dance, sports, and beyond. These engaging experiences are adored by both children and practitioners, seamlessly integrating movement with structured learning to enhance coordination, build confidence, and foster a sense of joy at nursery.
Cookery enhancement means that the children follow a set curriculum, using child-safe equipment. It is evident from watching the children how much enjoyment they get from cookery activities.
They gain early maths skills by measuring ingredients and listening skills from following instructions. We really enjoy watching them succeed and our parents love to see their children in their chefs’ hats and aprons as they whip-up their next delight.
The Montessori method emphasises five key learning areas of Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics and Knowledge and Understanding of the World. Each of these areas uses specific learning materials and practises, which are introduced in phases to our Iver children.
An example might be learning to lay and clear away the table for lunch. Through these activities our children become competent with everyday tasks, and their confidence soars.
Age-appropriate language lessons now feature on our timetable including baby-signing and language songs, stories and books which can also be shared with parents to continue the learning at home.
Our children leave for their next learning stage at primary school feeling confident about exploring languages and participating in class.
The brilliantly energetic Super Star Sports team join us each week to engage the children in catching, throwing and kicking balls just like the children will do in a P.E lesson at school.
We have lots of equipment for biking, scooting and hooping. Once all the energy is spent there are plenty of calm activities for the children to breathe and get some downtime.
Breathing and stretching our bodies is a life-skill that sadly us adults often forget about as we age.
Introducing children to yoga poses may help form a lifelong appreciation of the practice and is a good, calming activity in a busy environment.
Messy Mornings is a firm favourite for the children and our parents tell us they would rather have the mess on our nursery floor rather than on the home carpet! These activities can include anything from paint to flour to leaves, playdoh, lentils, shredded paper and glue to name a few. In essence, Messy Mornings uses items that the children love to get their hands on, bringing their creative development and fine motor skills to the fore.
There is something really grounding about putting our hands in soil and the children are certainly calm and focused when we teach them about the different stages of growth cycles and explore the different tastes and textures of the produce.
As Budding gardeners, children learn about the environment and gain lifelong sustainable growing skills and enjoyment, which they will carry with them throughout their lives.
Our nursery group is passionate about the link between home and nursery; the nursery experience is just as much about the parent as it is for the child. The Old Station Nursery Iver commits to verbally updating you about your child’s day at pick-up time and also via digital updates on the parent App.
We are here at any time should you wish to call us or want to discuss any area of your child’s care. Our aim is to look after our parents as well as our children, so you can carry on with your day, work and career with a sense of peace.
First and foremost, you and we need to know that your child is safe. Before we can deliver the excellent curriculum that makes our nurseries so special, robust policies and procedures are followed to meet the exacting standards of Ofsted, building and fire regulations, food safety standards and the checking and training of all staff.
Nutritious hot meals are prepared on-site at The Old Station Nursery Iver by our cook and menus are rotated every three weeks.
Our Budding Gardeners enjoy growing herbs all year round so that we can then use the herbs in our menus, teaching the children about garden to table.
Every child has a nursery key person who knows them best and who will be the child and parent’s main contact. Your key person at our nursery will update you about your child’s day and is there to answer your questions.
When your child moves to the next age group room, we hold several settling sessions with a new nursery key person. We encourage our parents to view the new room too and we will work with you to discuss the new routines, just like we did when you first started nursery.
It is wonderful to nurture and see our children graduate to primary school. Part of the unique offering of The Old Station Nursery Iver is our focus on the next stage of your child’s learning journey.
We prepare the children through school activities, teacher meet and greets and graduation ceremonies.
Our commitment is to support our parents too by providing child learning journey updates, parents evenings or one-to-ones and home link learning kits to enhance the link between nursery and home.
All our nurseries follow the Brighter Learning Approach, our bespoke version of the Early Years Statutory Framework and within this, each nursery chooses extra clubs, activities and enhancements that are suitable for their space.
At The Old Station Nursery Iver we offer the three exciting enhancements of Cookery, Languages and Montessori inspired which truly makes our nursery unique in the Iver area. We also thoroughly enjoy role playing and you will often find us creating florists or cafes out of recycled cardboard and a lot of imagination.

Our Baby Room is split into three age-appropriate areas with each room set up to encourage the children to explore their environment, enabling them to develop in their own way. We offer a wide variety of experiences that meet their natural curiosity, growing energy and brain development.
Each baby follows their own individual routine with a focus on a calm, nurturing environment. Once our babies are confident on their feet, they will move to the Toddler Room where activities become more structured.
In our Toddler Rooms, we focus primarily on establishing the basis of the strong social-emotional skills which will carry the children through their time here and onwards.
We build trust, self-confidence, and independence and support the growing awareness of other children. We know that young children learn through activating their sensory cortex, and so our two-year-old classrooms are filled with sensory opportunities – paint, clay, water, sand – and a full range of resources.
All activities are planned with the individual children’s needs taken into consideration focusing on the three prime areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
The room is carefully laid out into different areas; one side of the room is used for mealtimes, creative/messy activities and large physical activities; and the carpet area of the room is used for activities such as construction, role play and jigsaw puzzles.
In Pre-School the children are getting ready for school so will be able to use the toilet independently, use cutlery and put their coats and shoes on by themselves. The aim for our Iver Pre-school children is for them to feel happy, confident and ready for the next stage of their learning journey.
The new funding term is starting again in January and it’s important to understand the different kinds of funded childcare available to you and when you need to apply before the deadline closes on 30th November.
We have online experts who are on hand to answer any questions you may have via a web chat service, whether you’re a new or existing nursery parent.
