Throughout July, Townsend Montessori Nursery Faversham proudly joined nurseries across The Old Station Nursery Group in a group-wide fundraising initiative to support its charity partner Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity - raising an impressive £288 through a series of fun, family-focused activities.
With bright colours, sweet treats, and community spirit at the heart of the event, the nursery hosted a summer raffle alongside rainbow-themed activities for the children – each one rooted in creativity and connection.
These events offered families, staff, and children a chance to connect while raising vital funds for a charity that provides emotional and practical support to families caring for a seriously ill child.
The summer raffle was made possible thanks to the generosity of local businesses who kindly donated a wide range of prizes. Contributions came from West Faversham Community Centre, Role Play Rascals, Huckleberry Woods – Micro Animal Adventures, Prestige Beauty, Scissor Handz Faversham, Waterman & Webb, Gunpowder Mill, The Café by the Creek, Caroline Garland Yoga, John High Opticians, Faversham Kebab House and Restaurant, and William Whitmey Independent Funeral Directors. These donations were matched by the warmth and support of parents and staff who gave generously.
“We’ve been overwhelmed by the kindness shown by our local community,” said Jemma Silvester, Nursery Manager at Townsend Montessori Nursery Faversham. “Seeing everyone come together to support such a meaningful cause has been truly heart-warming. It’s a reminder of the power of connection and the strength we find in supporting one another.”
Townsend Montessori Nursery Faversham’s fundraising contributed to a collective group total of £8,319 raised across The Old Station Nursery Group during July in support of Rainbow Trust.
The fundraising month reflects the group’s ongoing commitment to building strong communities, both within and beyond nursery walls, and supporting meaningful causes that reflect their ethos of community, connection, and contribution.
Rainbow Trust’s mission to support families through the most difficult of times is one that deeply resonates with the ethos of The Old Station Nursery Group, and this month’s efforts stand as a testament to the difference that can be made when communities come together.
