The Old Station Nursery Raises Nearly £12,000 for Rainbow Trust in First Year of Charity Partnership

Stowmarket Nursery and Pre-School December Fundraising

We are incredibly proud to share that The Old Station Nursery has raised £11,971 for Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity during the first year of our official charity partnership - bringing our teams together across the group while making a meaningful contribution to the communities we serve.

This milestone marks an important moment for us. While supporting charities has always been part of our ethos, this year was the first time our entire organisation united behind one charity partner, creating a shared focus and a strong sense of collective purpose.

Stowmarket Nursery and Pre-School December Fundraising

Bringing Our Nurseries and Teams Together for a Shared Cause

Following the launch of our volunteering policy and charity partnership with Rainbow Trust in June, teams across our nurseries and support office came together to support Rainbow Trust in a variety of creative and community-led ways.

Fundraising activities took place throughout the year, with key fundraising months in July, October and December. Our nurseries hosted everything from themed activity days and bake sales to sponsored challenges, seasonal events and team initiatives. Children, families, staff and local communities all played an active role, helping us reach this incredible total.

What made this year especially meaningful was the way our partnership connected people across different locations – uniting everyone around a shared goal of giving back and supporting families who need it most.

Supporting Families Through Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity

Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity provides vital emotional and practical support to families caring for a seriously ill child. Each family is supported by an expert Family Support Worker, who helps them navigate everyday challenges, access support and make the most of time together, for as long as they need it.

Speaking about the impact of the fundraising, Jenny Evans, our Partnership Manager at Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity, said:

“£11,971 is a fantastic amount and the teams are so close to reaching the £12,000 mark. Raising £12,000 would cover the average cost of supporting six families with a seriously ill child for an entire year. With no central government funding, Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity relies on the support from organisations like The Old Station Nursery, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone at The Old Station Nursery – the children, families, teams and local communities – who have helped raise this money and make such a meaningful difference.”

A Year of Purpose, Connection and Giving Back

Reflecting on the year, Adelle Taylor, CEO of The Old Station Nursery, said:

“This year has shown the true power of coming together with a shared purpose. While we’ve always believed in giving back, having a charity partner has created a deeper sense of connection across our nurseries, our teams and the communities we serve. I’m incredibly proud of everyone involved – from our children and families to our staff – who have contributed their time, creativity and generosity to support Rainbow Trust and the families they help.”

Looking Ahead

Our partnership with Rainbow Trust reflects The Old Station Nursery’s wider commitment to nurturing not only children and staff, but also strong, compassionate communities. As we look ahead, we remain focused on building on this first year of partnership, continuing to support families beyond nursery walls and making a positive difference together.

Thank you to everyone who has supported our fundraising efforts so far. Together, we are showing what’s possible when communities come together for a shared cause.
