The Old Station Nursery Launches Volunteering Policy Alongside Charity Partnership with Rainbow Trust

Rainbow Trust

The Old Station Nursery is proud to announce the launch of an exciting new volunteering policy for all employees, reflecting the company’s commitment to community, connection, and contribution.

Rainbow Trust

Under the new policy, every team member across the group will be entitled to one fully paid day per year to volunteer with a charity or cause of their choice. Whether supporting local organisations, community initiatives, or national charities, this dedicated time gives staff the chance to give back in a way that’s meaningful to them.

The initiative aligns closely with the group’s partnership with the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity, which supports families with seriously ill children, providing them with the care, support, and resources they need during incredibly challenging times.

“This policy is about more than giving our teams time—it’s about empowering them to make a difference,” said Adelle Taylor, CEO of The Old Station Nursery Group. “We want every team member to feel connected to their community and know they’re contributing to something truly meaningful—whether that’s through volunteering with our incredible partners at the Rainbow Trust, or with a cause that’s close to their own heart. The scientific literature has repeatedly shown that acts of kindness and volunteering are strongly associated with improved mental health, overall well-being, and even better health outcomes over the long term.’’

This partnership and policy reflect The Old Station Nursery’s continued mission to not only provide exceptional early years education, but also to foster a workplace culture that uplifts, connects, and contributes to the wider world.
