The Old Station Nursery Group celebrated Macmillan Coffee Morning on Thursday 28th September 2023, with the Head Office based in Slough raising a total of £338.13 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Macmillan Coffee Morning is one of the biggest fundraising events to support people who are living with cancer. Although the charity raise money all year round, it is their annual September appeal that is well-known and participated in nationwide.
The team at the office, based in The Urban Building in Slough invited all Head Office staff and neighbouring companies within the building to bake or bring cakes in for others to enjoy, with a small donation in return to raise money for the charity.
With the amount of money raised, The Old Station Nursery Group’s Chief Financial Officer, Andy Thomas, matched the donations, bringing the total amount raised at Head Office to £676.26.
Reflecting on the event, Hannah Nabil, Digital Marketing Specialist at The Old Station Nursery Group expressed her gratitude, saying “It’s amazing to see how much we have raised this year on behalf of Macmillan – Every donation makes a difference, so we want to thank all who participated, whether that was by baking a delicious treat, or contributing to raising funds. It was a lovely morning, with a selection of goodies, hot drinks, and music. Credit to Barbara and Kamilla at the reception of The Urban Building, for supporting and assisting us with the event.”
Adelle Taylor (CEO) and Sarah Steel (Chairwoman at The Old Station Nursery Group) also shared their insight, “Highlighting and celebrating national and international events, such as Macmillan Coffee Morning, is an important part of the values at The Old Station Nursery Group, across the offices and nurseries alike. We’re happy to have raised money for such an important cause, and want to thank all those who donated and attended. Together we can continue to make a difference.”

Across The Old Station Nursery Group, which has 79+ nurseries across the UK, the children and team at some of our settings also celebrated and raised money for Macmillan Coffee Morning with a variety of events, such as bake sales, coffee mornings and more.
Contributions from these nurseries further increased our fundraising total, bringing it to an incredible combined total of £1,436.45. (Houlton £100, Filkins £109, Wylde Green £315.60, Colchester £98.92, Wolverhampton £52.37).
Highlighting and celebrating national and international events, such as Macmillan Coffee Morning is an important part of the values at The Old Station Nursery Group, across the offices and nurseries alike. The nursery aims to enrich the children’s learning and development by giving them the opportunity to explore diverse topics which impact the world around them.
