The Old Station Nursery in the heart of Filkins village has received a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating.
The nursery is housed in the Old Village School in the heart of the charming rural community near Lechlade and provides exceptional full-time care all year round for children aged 2-5.
The most recent Ofsted inspection mentioned that “Staff know and understand the children very well” and that “Staff provide a tailored and varying curriculum of activities to ensure that curiosity is fostered in children of all ages.”
It continued, “The senior team and staff have expertly designed a curriculum to include skills that build on children’s unique experiences, interests, and what they know and can do.”
The nursery provides a stimulating and safe environment, expanding children’s learning and curiosity through clubs, enhancements, and The Old Station Nursery’s curriculum, the Brighter Learning Approach. All of these aim to enhance the EYFS, ensuring that all children develop a life-long love for learning.
Commenting on the recent grading, Nursery Manager Katie Houghton said, “We are incredibly proud of our recent ‘Good’ grading from Ofsted, which recognises the hard work and dedication of the whole team.”
She continued, “Children’s learning and development are at the forefront of what we do every day; however, one of the best parts is seeing that the children are happy and love coming to nursery!”
