The Old Station Nursery Filkins hosted their annual coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support on Thursday 28th September 2023, raising an impressive £109 in support of those battling cancer.
Macmillan Coffee Morning is a nationwide initiative that plays a crucial role in assisting cancer patients and their families. Whilst Macmillan Cancer Support collects donations year-round, the September appeal is a long-standing tradition that brings communities together.
The Old Station Nursery Filkins proudly raised a total of £109. This remarkable achievement underscores the strength of collective action within the nursery, making a great impact to not just the cause, but also to the children, who gain an insight and understanding of the world around them, and the importance of taking part in community events.
Katie Houghton, Nursery Manager commented, “We are so grateful of the enthusiasm and unity demonstrated by our nursery community. Every pound raised today will make a significant difference in the fight against cancer. A big thank you to all who participated, whether by baking, contributing, or simply joining us for the coffee morning.”
