Following a recent visit, Sunhill Day Nursery Peckham Rye has received a ‘Good’ Ofsted report, finding that “Staff take time to listen to children and support them to express their ideas and thoughts” and “Children are provided with a good range of nutritious and healthy meals and snacks.”
Having recently launched two new services, weekly cookery classes and age-appropriate language lessons, to bolster the early years education available in the area, the report awarded a ‘Good’ in all four categories, including quality of education. It described the staff as knowing the children’s interests and using these to engage them in meaningful learning.
Located in the centre of Peckham Rye, just off the High Street, it has large and spacious rooms, allowing children to play freely with easy access to all resources. Children enjoy regular visits to local parks, where they are encouraged to explore nature and discover the great outdoors.
The setting provides full and part-time care for children aged 0 – 5 years. Delighted with the report’s findings, Nursery Manager Abi Akisanmi commented on the recent grading, “My team and I are so proud; it reflects our dedication and hard work. We are a setting that celebrates the uniqueness of each child, diversity and inclusion as we work closely with families.”
