Throughout July, My First Friends Droitwich proudly joined nurseries across The Old Station Nursery Group in a group-wide fundraising initiative to support its charity partner, Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity - raising a brilliant £278 through a day of colourful activities and community support.
The nursery hosted a rainbow-themed dress-up day, where children and staff came dressed in vibrant colours, alongside a fun and healthy rainbow fruit skewer sale. Children also took part in a variety of rainbow-themed activities, encouraging exploration, creativity, and joyful learning throughout the day.
These events offered families, staff, and children a chance to connect while raising vital funds for a charity that provides emotional and practical support to families caring for a seriously ill child.
“We wanted to create a day that was both exciting for the children and meaningful for the cause,” said Leanne Elliott, Nursery Manager at My First Friends Droitwich. “It was fantastic to see so many families join in with such enthusiasm. The bright colours, delicious fruit skewers, and all the wonderful activities made it a day to remember – and all for a brilliant reason.”
My First Friends Droitwich’s fundraising contributed to a collective group total of £8,319 raised across The Old Station Nursery Group during July in support of Rainbow Trust.
The fundraising month reflects the group’s ongoing commitment to building strong communities, both within and beyond nursery walls, and supporting meaningful causes that reflect their ethos of community, connection, and contribution.
Rainbow Trust’s mission to support families through the most difficult of times is one that deeply resonates with the ethos of The Old Station Nursery Group, and this month’s efforts stand as a testament to the difference that can be made when communities come together.
