Pre-schoolers at The Old Station Nursery Bridgetown prepared and cooked a delicious butternut squash soup.
This week, the children at The Old Station Nursery Bridgetown prepared a hearty butternut squash soup. The pre-schoolers took on the roles of little chefs, honing their practical skills by cutting, peeling, measuring, and cooking the ingredients. The process not only introduced them to the joys of cooking but also engaged their senses of smell and touch as they worked with fresh ingredients like onions and garlic.
The reward for their hard work? A cozy, delicious bowl of soup that was thoroughly enjoyed by the after-school club children. On a chilly autumn evening, their verdict was unanimous: “It’s delicious!” and “Can I have some more?”
