Throughout July, Good Manors Day Nursery Queenswood Lodge in Waterlooville proudly joined nurseries across The Old Station Nursery Group in a group-wide fundraising initiative to support its charity partner, Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity - raising a fantastic £259 through a week full of rainbow-themed fun.
Children arrived at nursery dressed in vibrant colours of the rainbow and took part in a wide range of exciting, creative activities. Pre-school children kickstarted the week by baking rock cakes to sell, while the Tweenies baked shortbread – both supporting the fundraising effort with their tasty treats. The nursery was a celebration of colour throughout the week, with amazing colourful outfits and matching accessories brightening each day.
These activities brought families, children, and staff together, all while raising funds for Rainbow Trust, which provides emotional and practical support to families who are caring for a seriously ill child.
“Rainbow Week has been a truly uplifting experience for everyone here,” said Claire Norman, Nursery Manager at Good Manors Day Nursery Queenswood Lodge. “The children loved the colourful themes, the baking, and the creativity. It’s been heartwarming to see our nursery community come together to support such a meaningful cause.”
Good Manors Day Nursery Queenswood Lodge’s contribution forms part of a collective fundraising total of £8,319 raised across The Old Station Nursery Group in July in support of Rainbow Trust.
The fundraising month reflects the group’s ongoing commitment to building strong communities, both within and beyond nursery walls, and supporting meaningful causes that reflect their ethos of community, connection, and contribution.
Rainbow Trust’s mission to support families through the most difficult of times is one that deeply resonates with the ethos of The Old Station Nursery Group, and this month’s efforts stand as a testament to the difference that can be made when communities come together.
