A week of colour, creativity, and physical challenges at Good Manors Day Nursery Miller Drive raised £310 for Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity, contributing to The Old Station Nursery Group’s fundraising effort.
Rainbow Week was filled with colourful creativity, from rainbow crafts and dressing up to themed sensory play and a bake sale. The highlight of the week was the Big Bike Challenge, where staff cycled 276 virtual miles over five days. The route included all Good Manors Day Nurseries, then on to The Old Station Nurseries in Oxford and Marlow, followed by nurseries in High Wycombe and Henley, and the support office in Slough, before finishing with a huge 75-mile ride back to Miller Drive. Nursery Manager Emma Kimber and Deputy Nursery Manager Olivia Astle each pedalled at least 25km per day, showing incredible commitment and teamwork to hit their goal.
These activities brought families, children, and staff together, all while raising funds for Rainbow Trust, which provides emotional and practical support to families who are caring for a seriously ill child.
“The whole team worked so hard to create a fun, vibrant week for a cause that means a lot to us,” said Emma Kimber, Nursery Manager at Good Manors Day Nursery Miller Drive. “It’s been amazing to see everyone come together – and pedal hard – for Rainbow Trust.”
Good Manors Day Nursery Miller Drive’s contribution forms part of a collective fundraising total of £8,319 raised across The Old Station Nursery Group in July in support of Rainbow Trust.
The fundraising month reflects the group’s ongoing commitment to building strong communities, both within and beyond nursery walls, and supporting meaningful causes that reflect their ethos of community, connection, and contribution.
Rainbow Trust’s mission to support families through the most difficult of times is one that deeply resonates with the ethos of The Old Station Nursery Group, and this month’s efforts stand as a testament to the difference that can be made when communities come together.
