Throughout July, Good Manors Day Nursery Manor Lodge joined nurseries across The Old Station Nursery Group to take part in a group-wide fundraising initiative in aid of Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity - raising an incredible £325 through a week of colour, creativity, and physical challenge.
Children celebrated in bright rainbow colours, with face paints, dress-up, and themed activities filling the week with fun and creativity. To boost fundraising, the team promised an Ice Bucket Challenge if they raised over £30 – which they did! Pre-schoolers gleefully tipped measured buckets of icy water over willing staff (using minimal water in line with conservation efforts). As a thank you, the nursery received two play passes to the Wonder Play Café, which were raffled among donors – two lucky winners were drawn at the end of the week.
These activities brought families, children, and staff together, all while raising funds for Rainbow Trust, which provides emotional and practical support to families who are caring for a seriously ill child.
“Rainbow Week was packed with colour, fun, and laughter,” said Sophie McNally, Nursery Manager at Good Manors Day Nursery Manor Lodge. “The Ice Bucket Challenge was a big hit with the children, and it was all for such a brilliant cause. We’re so grateful for the support from our families and community.”
Good Manors Day Nursery Manor Lodge’s contribution forms part of a collective fundraising total of £8,319 raised across The Old Station Nursery Group in July in support of Rainbow Trust.
The fundraising month reflects the group’s ongoing commitment to building strong communities, both within and beyond nursery walls, and supporting meaningful causes that reflect their ethos of community, connection, and contribution.
Rainbow Trust’s mission to support families through the most difficult of times is one that deeply resonates with the ethos of The Old Station Nursery Group, and this month’s efforts stand as a testament to the difference that can be made when communities come together.
