At Little Green Rascals Elvington, we love creating hands-on learning experiences for our children. Recently, we had the pleasure of welcoming Clare, a fantastic sports massage therapist, to our Pre-School. Her visit was a wonderful addition to our current investigations into the human body, and it turned out to be a day filled with excitement and learning.

Bringing Learning to Life

Clare’s expertise in sports massage therapy allowed the children to gain new insights into how our bodies work, particularly focusing on muscles and bones. But what really stole the show was Bob the Skeleton, Clare’s teaching aid! Meeting Bob was an absolute highlight for the children, giving them a fun and interactive way to visualize the bones inside our bodies. Through this experience, they were able to understand complex ideas in a simple, hands-on manner.

Learning About Bones

One of the key learning outcomes from Clare’s visit was about the importance of our skeletal system. The children had an opportunity to explore how bones support our bodies, protect our vital organs, and work together to help us move. They were fascinated to learn the names of different bones, and Clare did a brilliant job of explaining their functions in a way that was both engaging and educational.

Why Hands-On Experiences Matter

At Little Green Rascals, we believe that children learn best through interactive, real-world experiences. Clare’s visit was a perfect example of how we incorporate fun into learning. The children were not only captivated by the visuals of Bob the Skeleton but also gained practical knowledge about their own bodies—an important foundation for future learning.

Wrapping Up the Day

Clare’s visit was both entertaining and educational, helping our little learners grasp new concepts about the human body in a memorable way. The children left with a greater understanding of their own bodies and an eagerness to continue their learning journey.

We can’t wait for more exciting visits like this in the future! A big thank you to Clare for making our day at Little Green Rascals extra special!
