Wylde Green Manager Donna Reid Wins Nursery Manager Award at the Nursery Management Today Awards 2023

Nursery Manager of local nursery Wylde Green Day Nursery, Donna Reid has won the “Nursery Manager” award at this year’s Nursery Management Today Awards 2023.

Returning for its 23rd year, the NMT awards is a prestigious and fun-filled event, sponsored by a selection of nurseries and local companies. The event, which took place on Saturday 25th November 2023, saw teams across nurseries in the UK join for an evening of awards, to celebrate the very best in the Early Years sector, and recognise the achievements across the people within it.

The category “Nursery Manager of the Year” is won by a manager who has shown outstanding caring and business skills and leadership in developing a thriving, high quality nursery which delivers a superb environment for children, staff and parents.

Donna Reid, who started at the nursery sixteen years ago as an apprentice, has been Nursery Manager at Wylde Green since August 2019. She has worked incredibly hard over the years, alongside her nursery team, to ensure the nursery provides high-quality care for all children. This has been reflected through the nursery’s ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted Grade (2022) which quoted that “Leadership and management are exceptionally strong. The manager provides a robust induction and prioritises staff’s ongoing performance to maintain high standards.”

Having been nominated for the Nursery Manager Award ahead of the NMT Awards by her fellow team and families at the nursery, Donna Reid was delighted to win the award.

“I am so honoured to have even been a finalist for the National NMT Nursery Awards and to win is just surreal! I would like to thank all the parents and staff that nominated me for the Nursery Manager of the Year Award, it was so heartwarming to read all the lovely nominations.”

She continued with:

“I would also like to thank my amazing team at Wylde Green Nursery, my Area Manager Sarah Yates and of course Old Station Nurseries without them all behind me it would never have been possible. I’m still in shock but it is such an achievement and I’m so grateful for this award.

The nursery is a proud part of The Old Station Nursery Group, having joined the group of settings in 2021. The Old Station Nursery Group also had a successful evening at the NMT Awards, picking up the Large Group of the Year Award, and also being official sponsors for the event itself.
