The Old Station Nursery Group is delighted to announce that Townsend Montessori, a Kent based group of 6 nurseries previously owned by Philippa Vigor, has joined the group.
Located in Faversham, Maidstone, Margate, Herne Bay and Ramsgate, each of the nurseries specialise in the Montessori approach to learning. Having opened its first nursery in 2005, each of the Townsend Montessori Nurseries are well known in their respective communities for providing high quality childcare and support to all families.
This latest acquisition by The Old Station Nursery Group will mean that the group is able to support families at 59 settings across the UK.

Established in 2002 by Sarah Steel, The Old Station Nursery Group currently comprises of 53 nurseries providing 3504 places across Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Gloucestershire, Kent, Buckinghamshire, London, West Midlands, Staffordshire, Worcestershire, Wiltshire, Northamptonshire, Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Suffolk and Essex.
Named as the 12th largest nursery group in the UK (Nursery Chains league, March 2022), The Old Station Nursery Group has grown considerably since its first acquisition in October 2019. As Townsend Montessori joins the group, The Old Station Nursery Group will care for up to 4021 children in 59 nurseries across the UK; with the ambition to expand further and support more families in the near future.
The Old Station Nursery Group joined larger nursery group, La Maison Bleue, in 2019. Founded in 2004 by Sylvain Forestier and Antonia Ryckbosch, a childcare professional, La Maison Bleue has built a strong and innovative educational project. La Maison Bleue has seen great expansion over the past years and become one of the largest nursery groups in Europe. La Maison Bleue is the leading childcare provider in Switzerland and the third largest provider in both France and Luxembourg.
