Local nursery published in the Young Writers publication of ‘My First Poem’

The Old Station Nursery at Mottershead Drive has been chosen to participate in the publication of ‘My First Poem 2020 – Creative Stars’, a collection of anthologies featuring pre-schoolers from all around the UK.
At the start of February, every pre-schooler at The Old Station Nursery Mottershead Drive, entered the Young Writers competition of writing a poem ‘All about me’. The nursery, which provides care for children aged 0-5 years old, were delighted to hear that all of the children’s poems submitted had been chosen for publication.
This week, the nursery received their own copy of the publication in the post complete with certificates for each child. Kelly Hall, Nursery Manager at The Old Station Nursery Mottershead Drive, commented,
“We were so very proud of all the children and the amazing writing skills that they demonstrated. The children worked so hard on their individual poems and it is fantastic to see each child recognised for their hard work.”
She continued, “The children were thrilled to receive their certificates and the book this week. At The Old Station Nursery Mottershead Drive, we aim to inspire a love of writing so the Young Writers competition is the perfect challenge for all of our budding authors!”
Young Writers have promoted poetry and creative writing within schools and poetry competitions for the past 29 years. Young Writers run poetry and creative writing competitions throughout the year for a range of age groups.
The nursery has now been entered into an overall nursery competition which one of the entrants from around the UK will win. This will be decided on later in the year.
