The nurseries have been part of the Whitstable and Dover communities under the Choochoos brand and have been operated by The Old Station Nursery since 2021. This latest milestone brings the settings together under one shared Old Station Nursery identity, while remaining deeply connected to the local communities they proudly serve.

The refurbishments include a full redecoration, as well as refreshed outdoor spaces to explore and enjoy the benefits of outdoor play. The Whitstable nursery has also introduced a Montessori-inspired Enhancement that supports children’s independence, confidence, and natural curiosity through hands-on, child-led learning experiences.

Part of something bigger

The move to The Old Station Nursery reflects a shared commitment to bringing our nurseries together under one name and one shared set of values, while keeping everything families value about their local nursery at the heart of what we do.

While each nursery remains proudly local at heart, they are also part of a wider family of nurseries connected by a shared commitment to helping children, families, and teams grow and thrive.

A place to grow, together

The newly refurbished nurseries have been designed to feel brighter, warmer, and more welcoming, while remaining familiar to the children who learn and play at each nursery every day. Guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage and enriched through The Old Station Nursery’s bespoke curriculum, the All Aboard Approach, the carefully designed learning environments encourage curiosity, confidence, and discovery, with each day shaped around children’s interests and opportunities for meaningful play and real-life experiences.

Carly Garrett, The Old Station Nursery Operations Manager, said, “We’re incredibly proud to see both our Dover and Whitstable nurseries begin this exciting new chapter as The Old Station Nursery. While you’ll notice a fresh new look, what matters most hasn’t changed – our wonderful teams remain committed to providing the same warm, nurturing care and inspiring learning experiences that families know and trust. These improvements reflect our continued investment in creating environments where children feel confident, curious, and ready to thrive.

We’re excited to continue supporting local children and families for many years to come, helping them benefit from being part of a wider family of nurseries that shares the same values, purpose, and commitment to helping everyone grow.”
