Wolverhampton September News: Outdoor Learning, Harvest Festival and Space

Wolverhampton-September-newsletter

September news

What a fantastic month September has been! It has gone by far too fast and it may be that we have now seen the last of the summer warmth and sunshine. We look forward to continuing to play and explore outside, observing the changes in the environment as Autumn sets in.

This month, the babies have been very interested in rolling, posting items, listening to stories, mark marking and playing in the home corner. They have had lots of fun engaging in a range of different activities.

Our Toddlers have especially enjoyed being outside this month, exploring their environment. The home corners have also been very popular with the children throughout September and they have really enjoyed the story of ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’ as part of their play.

The children in Preschool have also enjoyed playing in their home corner and learning all about numbers and letters.

What’s coming up in October

During October, we will be celebrating Harvest Festival. As in previous years, we are asking ifamilies and the nursery team could kindly donate items which we will take to The Well. The Well are a Christian charity who provide food parcels and essentials for those who are in desperate need in Wolverhampton. We ask that all items to be brought into nursery by the 2nd  October so that we can take them to The Well for them to distribute. Thank you in advance for your kind donations, it is very much appreciated by us all.

The children will be learning all about space during ‘Space Week’ which is starting on the 4th October. They will also be learning all about chocolate during ‘Chocolate Week’ starting on the 14th October. These are both fantastic learning opportunities are we look forward to exploring them further with the children through a number of activities.

Nursery will start to look very spooky from the 26th October and the team and the children are invited to dress up on Thursday 29th October to celebrate Halloween.

Other important information

We have two new members of staff that have recently joined our team. We would like to wish a warm welcome to Sharanjit Kaur and Neerja Guru. Both have experience of working within childcare and both hold a Level 3 qualification. We would like to wish Sue Stevens all the best as she starts her maternity leave. Her little girl is due early November, we wish her well and hope to see her and her baby daughter in the very near future.

Can we also remind parents of the one-way system that is in operation on the car park this ensures that everyone that uses the car park can be kept safe.  If parents could also keep the speed on the car park to 5mph as again, this ensures the safety of the children as they are leaving nursery.

If you have time, we would be very grateful if you could leave us a review on Daynurseries. You can do this online by clicking here. Thank you for your continued support.
