October news

Due to the increase is our numbers, we have had lots of new staff join us this month! We would like to wish a warm welcome to Isabelle Pilsbury, Abbie Ryan, Nilima Yasmin, Karen Peake, Dannielle Toovey, Oliwia MatczukHardish Kalirai and Maria Santos who have all joined our expanding team. All have varying experiences of working within childcare and all are looking forward to working with the team here.

We have all been busy this month, firstly, with anything and everything that is Autumn. Lots of provocations have been set up and the entrance display has been fully explored by the children as they arrive into nursery. We saw out October in the only way we possibly could! The children and team dressed up for Halloween and participated in pumpkin provocations.

In October, the nursery also celebrated World Space Week. The week was full of exciting things to do and the children learnt a lot. The children continued their learning into National Chocolate Week, learning all about chocolate! All of the different activities the children have participated in all based around chocolate has kept us all very busy and everyone hathoroughly enjoyed messy chocolate play.

What’s coming up in November

During November, the nursery will be celebrating Guy Fawkes and Remembrance Day. To commemorate Remembrance Day, the children can wear red on this day (Wednesday 11th November). We will also be celebrating and participating in activities for Diwali and St. Andrews Day.

It is going to be another busy month!

Other important information

If your child is not going to attend nursery for whatever reason, could you please either telephone or email us to let us know. This helps us plan for meals and activities. If you wish your child to have breakfast at nursery, can you ensure that they are in nursery for 8.20am.

Back in summer, we held a vote on our social media accounts for your favourite Old Station Nursery recipes. We counted up the votes and sent in our parents’ favourite main, dessert and snack for the cookery book which Nursery Management Today were putting together. 50% of the profits made from the sales of this cookery cook will go to NHS Charities Together to support our amazing health care workers. We are extremely pleased that the some of the recipes we submitted have been chosen to be in this cookbook. We have pre-ordered our cookbook which should arrive to nursery in December. If you wish to order a book or learn more, visit NMT’s website here.

If you have time, we would be very grateful if you could leave us a review on Daynurseries. You can do this online by clicking here. Thank you for your continued support.
