We have had a busy month welcoming everyone back to nursery and reuniting with friends that the children had not seen since March.
Our under 2’s have been busy mark making, stacking the building blocks, singing and having fun outside with spray bottles of water. Our over 2’s have been spending lots of time outside looking for bugs and insects; the children in Little Miss Giggles even had 5 frogs to look after.
It’s that time of the year when our children in Mr Messys will be leaving us to start their next journey at ‘big school’. Due to the restrictions this year, we have not been able to hold a graduation ceremony although we have still produced a CD of memories for parents to keep. We wish all the children leaving us the best of luck and we will miss them all very much.
July was also a very special month for one of our children who, on 21st July, rang the bell to mark the end of her treatment. Mia started nursery in Mr Smalls in the Summer of 2017 aged 7 months but shortly afterwards was diagnosed with infantile acute lymphoblastic leukemia, also known as ‘ALL’. Mia’s parents invited us to join in with this milestone and via video link, the staff and children of Little Miss Giggles watched Mia ring this bell.
What’s coming up in August
We have new children starting in August and we are looking forward to welcoming these families to our nursery.
We are hoping the nice weather continues and the children can continue to enjoy their outdoor space; exploring and discovering through outdoor learning and play.
Other important information
Can we remind parents, where possible, for children’s bags to remain at nursery. This is to prevent the transfer of germs between home and nursery as well as nursery and home.
As you many be aware, we are listed on a nursery review site called Daynurseries. We would be very grateful if you would spare a few minutes to leave us a review. You can do this online, by clicking here. Thank you very much for your continued support.
