Wolverhampton August News: Outdoor Play, the World's Biggest Coffee Morning and a Warm Welcome

The Old Station Nursery Group - Creating Brighter Futures Together

August news

During August, all of the children have really enjoyed the nice sunny weather and they’ve spent lots of time outside exploring and playing together. The children have enjoyed reading stories, mark marking and making obstacle courses amongst lots of other things.

We are very lucky to be surrounded by such beautiful nature and landscape so it is safe to say that we have made the most of the sunny weather! Let’s hope this continues next month, although judging by the rain we have had over the past few days, next month may be slightly different.

What’s coming up in September

We would like to wish a warm welcome to all of our new families that are joining Sandhills Wolverhampton in September, we hope you all enjoy your nursery experience. Due to current circumstances, we are unable to allow parents into nursery, although your child’s daily diary is available via your EyLog app.  Please also use this app to record events that your child does at home and if you upload them to the app, staff are then able to add them to your child’s learning journey.

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is on Friday 25th September. This is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer. We ask people all over the UK to host their own Coffee Mornings and donations on the day are made to Macmillan. In support of this, we will be selling cakes on Wednesday 23rd September and Thursday 24th September.  A box for your donations will be in the nursery entrance and all donations received will be given to Macmillian. Thank you in advance for your support.

Other important information

Pia, our Third in Charge, is unfortunately leaving us this week to start her new adventure at university as she trains to become a Primary School Teacher.  We thank her for the last 4 ½ years with us. We will miss her so much and wish her well for the future.

If parents could inform us if there child is not going to be in nursery due to holidays, days out etc. it would greatly assist us.  This information can be emailed to

If you have time, we would be very grateful if you could leave us a review on Daynurseries. You can do this online by clicking here. Thank you for your continued support.

In order to bring the nursery group together, we will be merging our social media pages with The Old Station Nursery Group’s pages. Our individual and group social media pages will move over on Monday 21st September, so please ensure that you are following The Old Station Nursery Group pages by then to keep up to date with all of our latest news. We will still be posting each week and will take part in ‘social media take over days’ so please do make sure you keep following us to continue to receive regular insight into nursery life!
