Hi everyone. What a busy month we have had in February. The children have been busy with a number of activities and it looks like next month will be a busy one too!
During February, as a whole nursery, we have all celebrated Chinese New Year, Valentine’s Day, Pancake Day and Random Acts of Kindness Day. These events provided fantastic learning experiences for all of the children through a range of different activities.
This month, the babies have been focusing on their gross and fine motor skills. They have been using different apparatus to climb over and under. The children have also really enjoyed playing with natural scented playdough, made with edible items. On Pancake Day, they explored what a lemon tasted like and found the taste very bitter!
The Toddlers have thoroughly enjoyed lots of messy play activities this month, especially experimenting with all the ingredients to make a pancake. The children enjoyed exploring their senses by discovering different tastes, textures and smells.
In February, the children in Pre-school have been fascinated in the NASA Perseverance Rover landing on Mars. The team took them in a rocket to outer space to land on Mars! They learnt all about the Solar System and the different types of vehicles used in Space.
What’s coming up in March
We have lots of events coming up next month, it is going to be another busy few weeks indeed! We will be celebrating St David’s Day on the 1st March and World Book Day on the 4th March. We invite all children to come into nursery dressed as their favourite characters for World Book Day!
We will also be celebrating Mother’s Day on the 12th March, St Patrick’s Day on the 17th and finally Holi on the 29th March. The children will be engaged in a number of activities to enhance their learning and understanding of these events.
Other important information
Some of our team will be refreshing their First Aid Training on 27th February.
Thank you all for your continued support.
