This month, the children really enjoyed making Mother’s Day cards and treats to show their Mummies and special people in their lives how much they mean to them. The children loved getting creative and messy to make their special cards and used a variety of creative resources.
In March, the children also celebrated World Book Day with the children and staff teams coming into nursery dressed up as their favourite characters from their favourite books.
Across the whole nursery, the children have been enjoying using their gardens for longer stretches of time this month as the weather is starting to improve. Long may this continue!
The younger side of our nursery have been provided with some new resources this month and so have explored lots of sensory and natural objects. The children have been learning about different shapes with their new shape sorter. Making the most of the sunnier days, the children had lots of fun using their soft play in the garden, helping to promote physical development.
The older children in Pre-school have been spending time practising how to form letters throughout March. This helps to encourage them to learn to write their own names. All of the Pre-school children have been keen to learn about healthy eating, talking about foods that are good for them and will help them to grown big and strong! We have also put some new books into Pre-school, all about online safety. We have been discussing this topic with the children so that they can start to learn a little more about it.
What’s coming up in April
Next month, we are looking forward to celebrating Easter. The children will be participating in lots of activities surrounding Easter to support their learning with this time of year. It is also St George’s Day and the Queen’s birthday in April and the children will be celebrating both of these events in a variety of different ways.
