What a magical month December has been!
To begin the festivities, the children helped the team decorate the rooms and trim the Christmas trees – they look beautiful! The children have been extremely busy creating wonderful gifts to share with their families as well as taking part in various winter themed activities.
This Wednesday, the nursery held its annual Christmas dinner. This involved a delicious roast dinner, party hats, Christmas crackers and festive music. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed this occasion with special thanks to our talented Nursery Cook, Coral.
Yesterday, the nursery hosted a Christmas party and what a great event it was! The children were very excited to participate in the party games and experience a mini disco, before tucking into a tasty buffet. We do love any excuse to have a party!
Each year at nursery, the children usually have their photos taken by a photographer, then parents and carers have the opportunity to buy the professional photos. Unfortunately, this year we were unable to have the photographers attend the nursery. To ensure families did not miss out, Alexis, our fantastic member of bank staff, has very kindly captured photos of the children in front of our Christmas tree. These gorgeous photographs have been printed and will be sent home, along with the children’s artwork at the end of term. If you wish to receive a digital copy, please ask a member of the team.
What’s coming up in January
In the New Year, we will be welcoming back our all-year-round families on Monday 4th January and our term time only families on Tuesday 5th January. We will be thrilled to see the children again and hear all about their Christmas break.
As always, the children will have the opportunity to explore various activities over the coming month and celebrate occasions, such as Burns Night. There are lots of fun activities to look forward to, ensuring that January is just as fun as December!
Other important information
The nursery will close for term time only children on Friday 18th December and all year-round children on Christmas Eve at 1pm. If your child will not be attending nursery on Christmas Eve, or towards the end of December, please do let us know.
I would like to thank you for your patience and understanding with regards to drop off and pick-up times. The way it is organised will be in place for the foreseeable future as it is still essential for us to minimise contact inside the nursery. I understand it is not ideal – it is getting harder for staff to see parents/carers faces when they are wearing face coverings as the evenings get darker. I understand how time-consuming pick-up time can be. Your continued support is very much appreciated.
As a team, we wish all of our Mottershead Drive families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Chloe Rosser, Deputy Nursery Manager
