Welcome to our April nursery newsletter! We have welcomed lots of new families to the nursery this month, so a warm welcome to all of you. April has been filled with lots of Easter themed activities, we even had the Easter bunny come and visit us!
This month, the Bears and Preschool room held an Easter bonnet competition and we had some amazing creations brought in. Thank you to all the parents who helped the children take part; we had some very creative bonnets! First, we had an Easter bonnet parade with all of the children wearing and showing off their hats to our judges Dawn (Administrator) and Sarah (Chef). We then had prizes for first, second and third and certificates as well. Well done again to everyone, we were blown away by the creations.
The children in Bears and Preschool also had an Easter egg hunt around the village. Staff members hid the eggs for the children to find when they went out on a walk to our local Scouts’ field and around the local area. The children did really well in hunting them all out!
In April in the baby room, the children have been doing lots of baking. The younger children help to add the ingredients and the older children helped to stir the mixture and scoop it into cupcake cases. Afterwards, the children (and staff!) enjoyed trying their delicious creations
In the Bears room this month, the children have been really interested in dinosaurs so the team made colourful dinosaur eggs. The team did this by freezing plastic eggs filled with water for the children to try and break open and discover what was inside.
What’s coming up next month
Next month, we are going to be celebrating International Space Week as well as Mental Health Week. The children will be engaged in a number of activities during these weeks themed around these two events to help them learn more about these topics. More details on this will follow via Tapestry.
