Bampton July News: Inspiring books, a new outdoor space and a big good luck

The Old Station Nursery Group - Creating Brighter Futures Together

July news

This month, we have had some new books in the Coral room, Little People Dream Big. These books have been a big hit with the children and the staff. These stories give the children the opportunity to learn about key figures of people who have changed our lives. We have been learning about Martin Luther King, Amelia Earhart, Mother Teresa and Stephan Hawking. The books have been very thought provoking and have posed a lot of questions from the children. We would recommend these books to our parents; they have such a big variety to choose from.

The baby room have been enjoying their new outside space outside; having their own area has meant that they can have more outdoor time. The building blocks have been a firm favourite this month and the babies have done so well building and stacking their blocks.

We would like to say a big goodbye to our preschool leavers. It has been so lovely to watch you all flourish and prepare for your next step of your journey, ‘big school’. We have made some lovely memories with you all and wish you all the best of luck.

What’s coming up in August

We are going to start our summer off with a party on the 05/08/2020. The theme is summer and the children are welcome to dress up for the party. We will be enjoying some games and party food.

Looking forward to August, we will be exploring some Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) activities. These will include making lava lamps and volcanoes; some engineering with marshmallows and spaghetti; and flower experiments. By teaching STEM to the children, it allows them to work together as a team, with the children anticipating what might happen and using their problem-solving skills.

The Rainbow room are going to be looking at the different types of animals, farm animals, zoo animals and underwater animals. They will be looking at the different types of environments that animals live in as well as identifying big and small animals.
